  • A bit more expensive, but if your moving around a high end snare drum it is worth it.
I have three Ahead snare drum cases that I have purchased in the past year so I'm not sure which of the three this review is for. My first Ahead case was a 5x14 designed for the Rogers Dynasonic. I Really liked the design and how it protects the strainer. I liked it so much I purchased a second 5x14 Ahead Snare drum case to carry a standard snare drum. I then purchased a deeper Ahead case for a 6.5x14 snare I custom built. The cases are built very well, and designed to protect the drum better than anything else I have. They are a bit more expensive, but if you have a high end snare you are moving around it is worth the cost. ... show more

  • Durability, period
This is the second one of these I've purchased. Used the first one on my Truth Snare for the last 7 years or so. Needed one to carry my backup snare weekly. The old one's held up so well, the only way I can tell them apart is by the color of the logo on the front since the new ones just a little more vibrant. The rigidity is enough to make me feel comfortable putting it in a trailer and the liner is soft. The zippers are solid and well made. I did add some zipper pulls to mine. Overall it's solid. I don't know that I'd call it a bag. It feels more in the middle, somewhere between. Not quite a case, but more than a bag. Highly recommended. ... show more

  • My favorite drum bag. The next best thing to a drum case.
For a drum bag, it is about as good as they get. True cases are better, but this is superior to a cheap, paperboard drum case. If you aren't investing in true road cases, these bags will do. The zippers are strong, the padding is good and the handles hold up well. They don't add much weight to the drum and take up a bit less space than a plastic road case. The price is fair for what you get. These would be good for local gigs, but a true road case is suggested for touring. ... show more

  • Superior cases
Next to a fully padded hard case, there is none better than the Ahead Armor Case. They have a very stiff soft side and an incredibly stiff and thicker top and bottom with full trim and welts around. The interiors are fully sherpa lined. They are shaped to allow room for snare throw-off or to keep vibra-rim type mounts installed on drums when cased. They also have two zippers, which does not seem like a big deal, unless you open and close cases every day - you will then greatly appreciate that small detail! I have several of these cases and they stack great. ... show more

  • Great Soft Cases
This is agreat inexpensive soft drum case for any drums, the extra soft lining adds additional protection for your drum. I bought one for my snare but plan on buying more fir my entire set. Would highly recommend to anyone who does not have a whole lot of money to spend on soft cases.
