I knew the helmet lights up, but I had no idea exactly how customizable it is. You can fine tune the visor color with several color options, including multi color and cycling colors. The ear piece color changes independently of the visor color and the side mounted flash light rotates up and down. Some assembly is required, but the instructions were easy and I had the whole thing done in a couple minutes. You're definitely buying this for the helmet, but the included suit is very decent quality also and cute. I would add that the size 14 is a bit snug and short for the average 14 year old. My 9 year old son is obsessed with outer space. He wanted a "real" astronaut costume, with an actual helmet for halloween. He is thrilled with this. Other costumes have a kind of cloth that covers the head with a cut out for the face as the helmet - he didnt want that at all, he wanted a realistic helmet. This costume fit the bill perfectly. Space themed Halloween this year, we were impressed with this costume's superb helmet, but the uniforms are also top-notch -- true to the sizing chart for our 13-year-old (XL) and 9-year-old (L). A cheaper option would have worked. But the lights and sound effects mean the kids are genuinely excited to show these off -- daughter already using the side flashlight for reading, and they put them on early to give Grammy a preview :-) I imagine they'll continue to play in them long after Halloween, and they're nice enough to hand down to younger cousins. The costume was really cool and authentic enough. The only problem was the helmet seemed adult size. It fit me but sat on my sons shoulder causing discomfort.

Excellent service, awesome helmet, when the suit was a little tight I contacted the seller and they immediately sent out the next size up and it fits great!! My kid is happy with the features on the helmet and the quality of the the suit and helmet was great!!!

Ordered size 8-10 Y and it fit my 7 year old with some room to grow without being too big. He received LOTS of compliments on it - mainly how realistic it looked. Excellent quality helmet - very durable. Only complaint is that the belt buckle part was made with 2 female ends rather than a male/female end (it didn't snap closed). But a little super glue took care of it. I had a question about washing it, and the manufactured was quick to respond - wash in cold on gentle and hang to dry. My son wanted to add that he loved the lights on the helmet! I would definitely order this again. ... show more
