I was apprehensive ordering this so I wanted to write this review to give my positive view. It was pretty easy to install and everything seems to be high quality and sturdy. The shims were a little awkward to fit on the handlebar clamps. But once I figured how to fit it, the bar was sturdy. And there were comments of missing screws. There was an extra screw of each type in my box. I didn't use the sponge pads because my old one seems to be higher quality. They seem to be adequate if this is your firdt aerobar. If anything changes after my ride tomorrow, I'll post an update. Everything seems to look good to me! ... show more

This is an item that you get what you pay for. The bars are lightweight and do the trick, and the main clamp works well so far. I went to Lowe's and got stainless steel hardware after reading another person's review. Also, I had a hard time finding the super small washers for the socket head cap screws, but the ones I bought worked fine for the arm pads. There aren't great directions but the pieces are labeled L and R for the clamp and the bars. I've included pictures of what I bought to replace the screws, everything is 6mm I believe. I did have to use a little electrical tape to make the bars snug enough to get clamped into the bar holding hole because the spacers were too big and I didn't want to pry on the clamp. Spend the extra 7-10 bucks on hardware and you'll be happy with the purchase for the price. Used them for the first time today for a 10 mile high intensity ride. After getting used to them sporadically for the first 5 miles, I went hard on them for the last 5 miles and they felt study and didn't budge. If you do decide to use the cheap aluminum hardware for the love of God don't torque them to spec. You'll probably be tapping out those crappy bolts. Also I may add some tape to the ends for added comfort and padding. So far, very satisfied. ... show more

    • Some manufacturing issues...
Overall the product is well made. All aluminum construction, which is nice when one is fed up with everything being plastic nowadays. However.... 1. Big issue; you will need a Tap set on hand, as I had to 'retap' the threads on the clamps, (For attaching to the handlebars.) in order to get the bolts to go in. Still, even with oil and retapping, the bolts tended to twist in with some resistance. I actually had to replace one screw due to thread damage. But I was able to finally install the product. It is possible though, that the item I received, was one that got past final inspections on the assembly line. 2. I just wish the Elbo pads were a bit "wider". Other than these two items, the product is worth buying. ... show more

    • Would not fit my older bars parts had a lot of flashing
Be prepared to do some machining to make these work. Most notably the toothed adapters to fit smaller bars were damaged or had a lot of extra materials which would not allow them to fir into the aero bars. After that was resolved they simply would not grip my old handlebars despite replacing the bolts using locktite grip paste aftermarket adapters and old innertubes... These bars just moved where ever they heck they wanted to. If you enjoy the mystery of what your bike is going to do next, these are the bars for you. If you want your bars to be tight and safe... Find another set. ... show more

bought to use for a time trial I entered - cheap and pretty well made - no name doesn't bother me - worked and got my age group gold medal!

    • Not for long time usage
I liked it, because it introduced me to the world of Aero Bars but its cheaply made and won't hold up after prolong use. The forearm pads are not durable and was configured improperly. The pad mounts has two mounting predrilled holes. But the holes were drilled opposite of what they should be. In other words you can only use one of the holes to mount the pads. If you use both hole of the pad mounts, the mounts would be a 180 degrees off and won't fit the curvature of your elbows. ... show more

Not that difficult to install. They make riding in the wind much easier. Only problem I have had so far is the arm rests have to be re-tightened every week.
