  • Surprisingly durable, needs a few improvements
Style: No Sidewall Color: Green
This 12' x 20' canopy has survived 3 windstorms, and does OK with up to 8" light snow, and that's with both 6" and 1' extensions on the legs. I do have it anchored to a nearby tree, and put my own 25 lb. weights on 4 corners, which have moved a couple feet in a strong gust, so I just poured in-ground concrete footings with tie down loops. The weight bags it comes with fit loosely so you'd need a way to tie or clamp them to be effective. The 8 plastic tarp hooks and elastic broke the first year, so first I duct taped them, then I got a grommet kit and put in 2 grommets with bungees on each pole held with an SS clamp. The 2" extension bolts rusted and stuck out, so I've replaced the 16 of them with SS 1-3/4" bolts with cap nuts. The corner brace brackets just fit loosely on the pipes, and the 4 lower ones filled with water and caused streaks of rust. So I drilled drain holes in those 4, and caulked them well into place with clear RV caulk, so they stay dry inside and resist sliding. I added a bamboo diagonal brace and now it's quite firm and sturdy. The ball and bungee system is quick to put up, but if you get much snow, it creates a dip right above the cross bar, so it's better to run the bungees over the bar, and also coat the tarp with 303 or silicone spray to help snow slide off. One end did collapse when we got 9" of heavy snow and I didn't pull it off in time. The end I tied nylon cord across did not collapse, so this year I'm adding ratchet straps all around. I was able to straighten or shorten the 10 poles that got bent. I added 2' plumbing pipes, glued in with JB weld, to get it high enough to back the camper under it on the truck. This is a very sturdy frame, great corner brackets, good quality tarp, just needs reinforcement if you get extreme weather. ... show more

  • Good Awning / Great Customer Service
Style: No Sidewall Color: Gray
Purchased the 12x20 carport in 2022. I mounted it on a cement pad and put an anchor in the center on each side (about 16" out) and put ratchet straps from there to the 45 degree corner supports. It stood strong... until Hellene. Wind gust up to 60 mph all night and nothing happened, but at dawn (and the 80 mph gusts hit) the awning began to tear. The frame, however, stood strong. So I called Customer Service and left a message. An hour later they called back. After an Email exchange and some simple instructions, within 48 hrs they shipped me a new one (and even let me choose a different color). Save that little brochure that comes with it... It has numbers to call and email address. Super Pleased with this Product & Customer Service! ... show more

  • Great if maintained!
Style: No Sidewall Color: Gray
I had a similar tent to this one (but less sturdy) that lasted 4 years in a 4 season climate. As long as you clear the snow and strap it down WELL, it will last a long time. With that being said, after 1-2 years the tarp will condensate and lose much of its waterproofing. Also, the main image for this is misleading as it shows the legs of the frame as being thicker than the rest. All the framing pieces are the same size and they are rather flimsy. But then again, what do you expect for $350?? I highly recommend this product, just install it correctly and maintain it! ... show more

  • Very sturdy and good quality
Style: with Sidewall Color: Green
I have purchased 4 of these so far and another on order. Two of them have lasted 3 years and are still very strong. Through sub zero, over 110 degrees, snow, hail, rain and heavy winds. Very easy to put together, takes me, one guy, about 2.5 hours to put together. I built wooded floors for two of them and attached the poles to the floor. They are very secure. The other one I secured to the ground using some steel fence posts. The other one is free standing but attached to one of the others using zip ties. I bought one from Costco, it is still okay after 2 years, but not the same quality. I had to push up from the inside to remove the heavy snow loads. Used a 2x4 horizontally to push up on the roof. Snow came of right away and the ceiling tarp stood strong. I would not hesitate for anyone to buy one of these. But like anything you buy, care is needed to get the longevity out of the tents. If you live in areas of strong winds or snow, no tent is a good idea unless you reinforce it. This winter I am putting stringers in the older tents in case we get a bunch of snow. ... show more

  • Does not hold up in wind
Style: No Sidewall Color: Gray
We got this to cover one of our cars year round since our carport only covers one car. We get wind gusts up to 55 plus MPH. This product says it holds up in wind and it does not do well at all. We bought extra bags to hold it down. The wind gustsmove the whole thing with the weighted bags still attached. The last storm we had with wind actually picked the canopy up and two legs came out of the weighted bags. This canopy is also supposed to be okay with snow but apparently it isn't. We get all the seasons. And our snow can be heavy. You can't claim it holds up in wind and snow if it doesn't. And taking the canopy down in winter defeats the purpose of having it. Update: a fee weeks ago the wind gusts broke two of the poles, one was the corner, and damaged my husband's car. If I could give this product and it's company negative stars, I would. When I asked for a refund in December, they gave us $28 to buy screws to go in the concrete. It wouldn't have mattered if we had been able to do it. Unless you live where there is not wind and can secure this suckered 100%, don't buy it. It's not worth it. ... show more

  • Very Good car port
Style: No Sidewall Color: Green
I bought it as a carport for my vehicle. It looks great, functions as advertised, itbis resistant to rip, easy assembly, perfect sive for large vehicle. The top cover lasted 2 years and resisted two hurricanes and high wind, blazing sun and hard rain. The aluminum frame is very sturdy, I just need to buy a replacement top cover and I am good to go. I recommend these. The seller was very responsive when I had missing parts they sent me the parts very quickly. Excellent customer service. ... show more
