It's a cute little wood crate the size of a shoe box. It has been given an artistically styled look of distress to mimic age. It's not an old work crate off a farm, or a warehouse; it's lightweight and cozier. It would probably not take a lot of undue force for this cute little box to be destroyed; it's only crafted as a thing of beauty, and is not utilitarian in design. It's about as rugged as balsa wood. I'd wanted this for awhile. It's the perfect size to hold a few important items in the living room that kept cluttering up the place (entertainment center remote, AC remote, battery charger, random things.) It's nice to have those things neatly out of the way in an attractive way. Ordered two of these for the kitchen to better contain potatoes, squash etc. that don’t need to take up space in the fridge. These are inexpensive, but look nice, and do their job well. The materials are light, certainly could break easily. I can understand the other reviewers receiving their damaged in shipment. Ours arrived fine, and we are happy! ... show more

The wood is phony, insubstantial. There’s no obvious nails, so it must be glued together. It’s fine if you use it for something lightweight, but it’s not sturdy enough for small to medium sized rocks, which is what I’m using it for.

This was a cute little box but purely decorative. I wouldn’t put anything heavy into it. I bought it thinking it was a real apple box, to stand on to make myself a few inches taller while shooting a music video. This is really common practice while filming. It broke immediately after I stood on it; it’s not durable. But if you want just a decorative box to keep things on your desk in or something, it was nice looking.
