When I received the first gift of quail eggs I hard-boiled them, and they were adorable, but they were still hard-boiled eggs that I don’t really like that much. When the second bunch arrived the question was how to get the egg out of the shell to fry or poach. I found a video on line and learned about quail egg scissors (who knew?), bought these because they would be delivered the next day, and the rest is history: these worked perfectly on my first try, and on every egg thereafter (I did 20 on my first outing). DO place the hole over the FAT end of the egg, and DO wipe the cutting blade on a paper towel every so often to remove albumen build-up. ... show more

I thought quail egg scissors were a silly idea until I finally decided to give these a try. Much easier to crack through the eggs without getting shell in your bowl. 10/10 do not hesitate to get some quail egg scissors
