This product is excellent to keep the dogs in. We were able to pound them into the ground deeply enough to discourage digging. It is easier to pound them in after a couple of hard rains. We have also used them to keep rabbits out from under the shed. This was more difficult to do, trying to pound them in right up against the shed. We have not been able to completely keep the rabbits out of our fence because these are expensive to put around a large fence! We believe they could be made a little less heavy duty and still do the job at a cheaper price. We keep adding some a little at a time and eventually will have the entire fence done. I have a dog that's about the size of a French bulldog. These are very sturdy and will keep him from attempting to go under the fence. They are more sturdy than the photographs look. Using a large flat rock to pound 4 of them about 3 inches into the ground to try them out. Then I went back and attached them to the fence with black zip ties. The entire process took me about 15 minutes. I did have the box already open before I started, but I'm going to go ahead and order another box of these. As others have said, I wish they weren't quite so expensive but I was able to install these myself with minimal tools In just a few minutes. The alternative was to hire someone to help me and that would have easily been another $100 to have them put in by someone else. I think it's a brilliant way to stop your dog from being able to get under the fence. Last week there was an armadillo puttering around out in that field behind my fence during daylight hours, and it was making my dog a little nuts. He wanted to dig out of the fence. That's what made me decide to purchase these animal barriers. I definitely want to keep my dog inside the fence and the critters outside of the fence! ... show more

I'm an organic gardener and hate using chemicals for pest deterrent. A high fence kept the deer and rabbits at bay. But the groundhog(s) was undeterred. After months of loosing my veggies to the groundhog(s), I decided to spend the money and bought these. I used them as fence stakes around my entire garden putting the spikes through the bottom row of the wire fencing. I noticed that the rodent tried to burrow at a couple of spots after I installed them but these successfully stopped him and I haven't had any issues since. I will buy more as I expand the garden as it seems to be the only thing that works for the groundhog(s). ... show more

These are so easy to install. Went very fast putting them in the ground. Just used a hammer and a 2x4 piece of wood. Extremely sturdy! and they help so so much. I cannot believe that I paid $140 for this 15-pack of coated metal rods. It is as advertised, about 12 inches goes below the ground, a little bit above, in theory to deter rabbits from going under your fence. But when you see what you get, this is obviously not an item that’s worth the amount of money I paid for it. I didn’t return it, because I plan to use it, but I’m just saying, it’s probably worth about $30 brand new, $40 max. ... show more
