  • Spectacular science supplement
I bought this, along with the Iggy Peck and Rosie Revere workbooks to supplement learning during Covid. It helps that my daughter already loves the picture and chapter books. These are a great way to include STEM subjects without it feeling like school and while being fun ... with little work on the parent's side. The book starts out with an overview of Ada's story followed by a list of items that are useful for being a scientist. What follows are pages of prompts puzzles and projects that celebrate architecture. We especially loved the fact or fiction section about ladybugs (my daughter's favorite insect). We trade off between the three workbooks, so we've still got plenty to do going into the school year. If I were not using these specifically to supplement school, I would happily hand them off to my daughter to explore at will. And if we actually start in-person school and stick with it for a couple weeks, that's exactly what I plan to do. ... show more

  • Ada Twist's Stellar Scientist
My granddaughter requested this book, sobI knew it would be a hit. I love it that my granddaughter gets to read books about becoming a scientist! I had Nurse Nancy & Dr. Dan. I was automatically subservient to the male doctor. I love it that times have changed!

  • So fun to do together
My 5 year old loves the how and was so happy to get this. Some of the concepts are a little over his head but exposure is still great and he can do something on each page, and he’ll grow into the rest.

  • I can't say enough about how awesome this book is
I can't say enough about how awesome this book is! My daughter loves science and this book is so helpful in teaching kids how to think and how to ask good questions. I recommended this book to my daughters school who now use it in the classroom too. This isn't just a book with some experiments in it, this book sets the stage for great minds to consider the world around them and to find out how and why it works. ... show more

  • Good, but...
It may fall totally on me, but I was hoping littler "scientist" like my 4-5 year daughter could do a few more of the projects in this book. It's larger for a 7-8 year old. A lovely idea and accompaniment to the Ada Twist book, however.

  • Love this book!
If 6th science had been like this I would have remembered even more about science. This book is going to be a joy to share with my after school students. I can’t wait until we get to completing experiments! This is going to be such fun!!!
