Soo this thing kind of hurts lol I would say that I've never tried anything like this before, but I do have back and neck pain and I wanted to give it a shot. I don't think there will ever be a time that I just have the spikes on my bare skin but through my shirt I could still feel them, and it wasn't too bad! It is definitely a different sort of feeling that I don't really have words for, but I felt less tension in my body as I got off of the mat! I tried using the pillow with the little blanket that comes with it but I could barely feel the spikes so I think that I will have to try to find another cloth that is thinner. All in all, it's a cool concept to try out to see if it works for you without having to get a billion needles stuck in your skin! ... show more

I've never tried anything like this before, and never had acupressure/acupuncture, so I wasn't sure what to expect going into this. This definitely pokes into my skin and is uncomfortable, though I'm not sure I'd say painful. But getting up afterward, it did seem to feel a little better, though I'm not sure if that's because I was just so distracted by the process. I'll probably try it again a couple of times, but not sure if this is something I'll do regularly. ... show more

When this first arrived and I touched the “Spikes” on the mat and pillow, I was like NOPE, Not happening, haha. BUT, once I read the Included instruction booklet I decided to give it a try and I’m Glad I did! If you’re like most people, you’re probably not all to familiar with “Chinese Massage” as the provided information states. With that, I followed the recommendations that are provided with the product and find I really Enjoy using both the mat and pillow! I wear a thin shirt when using the mat which provides a little buffer for me. The pillow is really nice, I’ve been using it without any cover material and it feels good! Your skin will turn red, that’s a given but that’s exactly what’s needed in order to achieve a therapeutic level. It really does Increase blood flow where each of the acupuncture disc rest on your skin. I wake daily with neck pain as I suffer from nerve damage. I do traditional Chinese Cupping all the time. With that, it def leaves red rings on my skin for days. BUT, it makes me feel a Whole Lot Better!! Same holds true with using this mat and pillow. It’s a level of pain that actually Feels Good! I know that probably makes no sense to some. But once you’ve done real cupping as well as used this mat and pillow, you’ll def feel the same way. The mat and pillow are made really well. I didn’t find any issues with craftsmanship at all. The mat uses velcro closures so you’re able to remove the pad from it in order to clean the acupuncture surface better. It took me a little longer to find my happy level of pain with the mat, but I’m there at this point! I’ve only had the product for a couple of days and that’s all the time it’s taken for me to get completely comfortable using both. The mat feels really good on my back and legs. It def increases blood flow/circulation which is what I was looking for. With cupping, it’s the exact same thing for me that I was wanting/needing. I have nerve damage in both legs and find this mat really helps to relieve some of my pain. I have less pain in my back and legs for several hours which is awesome in my book! What would be really great is with continued use of the mat and pillow, for it to extend my time with less and less pain. That’s what I’ve experienced with cupping which is why I enjoy doing treatments so often. I’m pretty much there with the same feelings with this mat and pillow! It only takes 15 to 20 minutes to do a treatment, that’s not long at all! I’m going to continue using the mat and pillow daily and then work up to using both twice daily!! That should def extend my time of having less pain! I Totally Recommend this product as it does offer plenty of therapeutic benefits. If you suffer from nerve damage or any type of injury where you need more blood flow/circulation, I think you’d benefit by using these two products. As a bonus, the mat and pillow are easily stored in the included bag. The bag has a strap so you’re able to carry it on your shoulder or hand with ease. I got this because I recently started getting into acupressure and it is so relaxing. It makes you forget about everything else and clear your mind. When you first lay on this it hurts a little but after a while it gets relaxing. also a good size. It is a little difficult to clean so I wouldn't recommend doing this after exercising because its hard to clean if you get sweat on it ... show more
