  • Easy to use. Accurate.
Good system to check blood sugar levels at a good price. App software calculates A1c with okay accuracy. It was off by .6 I had a 6.1 with lab work with the meter/software giving a 5.5.

  • Miniature Meter - Accurate, but Very Poorly Designed and Hard to Use
1. The meter came in a case about half the size of my old one. The case is soft and nylon measuring about 5" x 2.5". I would prefer a more solid case to better protect the meter. It's more like a zippered bag. 2. It's all so teeny tiny!!! My fingers are too big to work with it. The meter is smaller than the palm of my hand. The test strips case is so tiny I can't even wrap my arthritic hand around it, so it will fall often. Even the strips are barely bigger than my fingernail, so will be dropped more oft than not. 3. At first, I put the strip in the meter upside down because they are so small that I needed both my eyeglasses and a magnifying glass to decipher the writing on them while squinting. There's no arrow, just three little "dots" that represent blood drops on one end. 4. The lancet devise didn't work for me. Every time I used it, it popped apart like it was trying to force you to change the lancet which never seems to sit in the holder entirely. I finally figured out there's a button to "prime" the lancet device before clicking it. I think I finally have it working. 5. Readings wise, it read within 1 point of my old meter, the Accu Check Aviva, which strips are recalled for even though they work just fine. 6. It came is a large box with several instruction books in different languages. Seems like a waste of paper, though I'm thankful English was included. On the downside, be prepared to use eyeglasses and several magnifying glasses overlaying each other to read the tiny print while straining your neck. It would be better served to be posted online as a PDF with a single piece of paper with the link in the box. Perhaps I'd have been able to figure out the lancet device if it was possible to read the instructions... though the quick start instructions in the folded accordion were better and got me on the right path. 7. Price wise the meter and strips are comparable to my old one... thus satisfactory. In general, I think test strips are highly overpriced. All in all, it works and does what it is intended for. High humidity does not seem to impact Accu Check meters, so they work in the climate where I live where other brands have failed. My primary advise is to beware if you have large hands, arthritis, tendonitis, less than 20/20 vision or any of the other myriad of conditions that come along with diabetes. While convenient to stick in a purse or pocket, use at work/school, or travel with, it's just too small for anyone other than a child diabetic or person who is extremely petite and small. Update After using the meter for a month it continues to provide accurate readings. But, 1. When I get near the end of the strips they fall sideways in the container and get stuck. This another example of why the whole meter is just too tiny. 2. The "zippered bag" it comes in has continued to soften and is hard to zip closed because it is so small and flimsy. The zipper gets stuck when it's open and the "zippered bag" is slippery. I struggle to get a grip on it as it requires clamping the two sides flat as they try to slip away from each other while using the other hand to get the zipper going. 3. The strap for the meter in the "zippered bag" requires one to remove the meter every time or the zipper will be in the way of the place where the strips are inserted. I just feel frustrated every time I use it because of all the inconvenient design flaws. I want my old Accu Check Aviva back! 2nd Update I found case from an old meter and put this meter inside and discarded the slippery flimsy "zippered bag" this meter came with. I am able to handle it better now and the contents are more secure. At least I don't feel like a klutz trying to zip up the cheap bag this came in while my hands are sliding off the contents are squishing out. The case I put it in is a canvas like texture and while not hard, it's solid so the case doesn't fly out of my hands like the "zippered bag" this meter came with. The case really should have at least a piece of cardboard in the two size to make it more solid. It's too small too. I often carry an extra lancet device as they malfunction often and the case this came in was much too small to put an extra inside. All in all, here's my rating: Meter Accuracy 5 stars Meter Size 3 stars Case 0 stars Strip Container 0 stars Strip Size 0 stars Too many corners cut on this one. While most people are cost conscious, I'd rather pay more for quality and size. There's no point in miniaturizing everything to the point it becomes too difficult to use while paying extra to buy a separate case. It should be made right to begin with. I'm truly disappointed as I've used Accu Chek meters a long time. ... show more

  • Perfect
Works just fine, if you’re a Diabetic, remember Medicare will cover the expense of a new glucometer every year for you. I’m pre diabetic, so I had to buy my own!

  • Not sure why test strips are shown, misleading and bad form. Change graphic.
With that being said, I really like this meter. I spent quite some time yesterday trying to connect it to the app on my IPhone (not sure what problem was?!) but after it was up and running, it’s great. This is not the first time I used it which is why I went back so I guess it’s worth the migraine I got trying to connect. This past summer, I had an undiagnosed issue with my blood sugar dropping. I woke up one morning with tinnitus and a 35 blood sugar! Scary. I never found out why but eventually got it worked out in conjunction with extremely high blood pressure. (Good to be alive!). But this works beautifully with the app and keeps me focused on relevant information to try and control this awful condition. It’s small, so convenient to take with you, quick to use and keep it moving. I have tried others like the Verio (which I liked, it’s in color which is cool), but it runs high for me, the new FreeStyle Libre (love but don’t trust readings when compared to other meters because the number variance can be as different as 30 points) and since my insurance like a number of other insurances in the United States, unlike in the U.K., sucks by not paying for the expensive sensors) is cost prohibitive for me on a limited retirement budget. The Guide works for me across all spectrums until something better comes along and it cost effective. The 4 stars is because I don’t like misleading advertisement. I am not blaming this on the seller, it’s not there fault even though I hope they relay this concern to the manufacturer. Test strips are the most expensive part of a glucose system in the long run. Good luck with finding one that works for you. ... show more

  • I much needed new meter
My old meter was a Bayer Contour 2. It was really a great meter, but test strips for it were to high. I did my research and found this meter. It had no problem pairing with my phone and also the mySugr app. It makes tracking my levels so much easier now. The meter automatically sends it to my phone when I test my blood. Now I don't have to even open the app. It is all done for me and if something should happen to my phone it is all backed up online. I am glad I waited and did the due diligence in my research. It will help me get my blood sugar under control now. ... show more

  • Love the connectivity to iPhone and the smaller test strips
Love the connectivity to iPhone and the smaller test strips. Also came with FastClix lancets which is a 6 lancet cartridge. Very easy to use, You must get the Accu-Chek Guide control fluid to ensure it is reading correctly (should already be accurate from the manufacturer). Their support is GREAT! I had the Accu-Chek Aviva and compared both and there was a difference between them. There is a variance in all meters due to many variables. It turned out the one I purchased was the Europen version so they are sending out a replacement. I will continue to use the Aviva meter on and off until I am out of existing Aviva test strips run out more to verify the difference between the two meters. They will never read the same as that is normal even the same meters have differences depending on many variable (that is a whole world of information you can google). ... show more

  • Meter but no strips
Despite the description, the cannister of 50 strips was missing from the box.
