Long time player, my first J/B cue. After reading the reviews I contacted AB customer service with a couple of questions. AB has excellent customer service people, they respond quickly and are very knowledgeable. Here is my hands on review of the stick. The cue looks as pictured, very clean. 10 racks of 8 Ball on 4x8 table, I made 1-3 balls per rack on the break, all very good spreads. I tried the jump portion for 2 jumps, no problem. Some of the reviews were negative about the tip. The tip is very hard and yes it makes a sound. The tip must be scuffed up and chalked really well to preform as it should. 1 of the racks had a really great spread and played the rack with the J B cue, I made sure the tip was chalked well before every shot, I ran out using the AB J B stick. This is a good stick at a very good price. If you have problems breaking or jumping with this stick, it's not the stick. ... show more

After trying out a couple of my friends’ break cues I wanted to get one break cue without breaking the bank. This turned out to a great buy. Really solid cue with good energy transfer. I don’t play jump shots so I can’t comment on that feature. Very happy with the purchase

    • All 3 sections have some noticeable warpage, but it probably doesn't matter much for its intent.

The fit of 1 of the 2 joints is not 'perfect', but acceptable. All 3 sections have some minor warpage, but shouldn't compromise the functionality. I only used for 1 day so far. I'm not used to the weight and that may be why my breaking with it was a bit off center of the cue ball. The 'tink' sound on breaking is what I most dislike because it does not sound or feel solid when striking the cue ball. Tip was shaped okay. Overall appearance is decent. I have been using this stick for a few months and like it. I think the build quality is good, the finish is what you would expect for the price and it is good and heavy. I like that it will break apart into 3 pieces so you can use it as a jump or short shot stick. I would buy this again, it works as well as any expensive break stick I have tried in the past and it does not break the bank. ... show more

Great Break/jump cue, better company warranty. As a small American business owner in Philadelphia of 16 years, I know how important it is to stand behind your products. Received my AB Earth 3 piece Break/jump cue. I noticed the black n maple cue had a black linen wrap when the web site stated black n red wrap. After posting this question to AB Earth, I was surprised when Mark CEO of AB E, personally responded to my email. Mark apologized, stating AB web site was in error. Mark then thanked me for discovering n bringing this to his attention. To my total surprise, Mark insisted that I Keep the cue as a REWARD, n he refunded my purchase price via amazon. Emailed me to verify I received refund. Yeah, the CEO followed up. One reason for purchasing the AB cue was the Lifetime Warranty. My experience is AB is a honorable company. Performance: I’m a rusty intermediate shooter. After EXPLODING 8 ball rack after rack , making 2-3 ball per break, I finally made my FIRST “8 ball on the Break” to win the game at the break. There are more expensive cues with 1 year warranties. This is more than a lot of Bang for your Buck. The cue is as advertised, it’s a great breaking cue. The jump cue is amazing, I’ve been shooting pool for over 20 years and have always had problems with jumping. I got his cue in and I made 4 out of 5 jump shots last night. I would definitely recommend this cue to anyone.
