It is a very tight space on a Jeep compass. It is a very common problem with these. I opened the old one up and the shaft the middle sized gear sit in breaks at the base causing it to move out of alignment. Fixed the clicking and is virtually silent.

Easy to install if you watch the videos available on the web. there are 3 screws to remove not 2. The third one is in the back, you cannot see it but you can get to it with the 90degree ratchet screw drive recommended with this purchase. I am kinda a home gearhead so be patient, you'll get.

2011 Jeep Patriot has 3 of these little motors under the dash controlling the heat and air. Chances are you will ne replacing one eventually. Worked fine for me.

    • Worked for 2 days then the climate control started flashing again
Worked for a few days then things went wonky.. damn climate control light flashing again. I'll have to try to run the calibration test through a expensive scan tool to see if it fixes it for a day or so. When I first installed them. The climate control cleared itself and instantly calibrated the motors when the climate control system was turned off. It swung both motors through their determined path and then when I turn it on when the car was running. It instantly was working without flashing light and waiting . But I guess Chinese parts not so good ... show more
