Great item to hang a swinging chair. Comes with two ropes but you only need one. Be sure to watch the video on how to adjust the length of rope. It is at the bottom of the item description on Amazon. I had to watch it a few times to get it right. The mechanism is very ingenious. To hang a chair you will also need a hook kit. I only needed the rope to span about 12 inches between the two metal rings, but this product is designed to span about 24 to 36 inches. However, you can take the end of the rope and loop it through one or two of the round rings a second time to make it shorter than 24 inches. See my picture for how I accomplished this. ... show more

    • Rope gave out after minimal use, causing severe injury

Installed this rope to hang a hammock chair from an interior support beam, following all instructions and use guidelines provided. After a few months of minimal use, the rope suddenly gave way, fraying at the spot where it is capped by plastic. This caused the hammock chair I was resting in to violently drop to the floor, resulting in severe back and neck injury. It's been two weeks since this incident happened, and the pain is still paralyzing. Really disappointed as the rope is advertised to "withstand harsh winters and brutal summers" and "hold up to 650 lbs," though even when using only indoors, with minimal interaction, and never loading it with more than even 1/3 of its listed weight limit, it did not hold up. ... show more

I initially skipped the recommendation from Amazon to order this when I ordered my daughters macrame hanging chair along with the hook kit. I wasn’t sure I needed to spend the additional money on this after I just purchased the swing and hooks.. well I was silvery wrong and had an extremely upset child.. we mounted the hook it and once we took the swing out of the box and hung my daughter would’ve had to use a ladder to reach the swing! So I immediately went back on to Amazon and ordered this rope. Two days later it arrived, we very quickly added it to her swinging chair and now her chair fits perfectly in her room and at a perfect level. Definitely worth the additional cost to the chair and is very great quality! Don’t skip this item!! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I bought these for our indoor yoga swing. The previous ropes lasted for about 3 years with indoor and outdoor use. They were probably still ok but my teen daughter felt they were thinning. I bought these new ropes in August this year, at the end of October the right side is almost completely shredded. They are on a smooth surface, no explanation for one side detiorating so rapidly. The left is frayed just not to the same degree. I would not recommend these at all. The girls dol swing on the yoga swing, but this is pretty radical wear for the amount of time we have had them. Maybe they work for a hammock, but I would not recommend them for hanging a swing that is used. ... show more

I’m returning this item and I will just buy some camping straps with loops that will wrap around a tree trunk/branch with a locking caribeaner. hammock rope is awful. Very confusing execution and this is coming from someone who ties ropes often. I figured it out, but it’s not easy for the average person. They are not big enough to wrap around a tree at all, there are no hooks whatsoever, it just had two closed off ends so it is not easy to remove. I want to be able to just hook it up and remove my hammock when done so it doesn’t stay out in bad weather. Not really adjustable. I just had to wrap it around multiple times. It mentions a plastic buckle, I’m not sure if they are referring to the black pieces on the rope but these don’t seem relevant to the directions, and plastic sounds less safe. It also mentions putting it around a locking caribeaner but it doesn’t come with one. ... show more

We wanted a rope hanger for our indoor swing but wanted it to be easy to adjust. This fit the bill. Easy to adjust the height. Sturdy to hold my kids and even me in the swing. Just wish it were white, haha.

I bought these to hang rattan basket chairs on my porch. I purchased the 6 ft. length but only needed the 3 ft. length for a 9.5 ft. ceiling. Thankfully they were adjustable I was able to double it to accommodate the length needed. Much softer than a chain but you can not control the twirl to keep the chairs facing a certain way.
