  • Works with the Steam Deck!
Color: Turquoise
I bring my Steam Deck to work a lot and wanted an ultra portable controller to keep my setup as small as possible. I understand that the Steam Deck has a controller built into it, but it can get uncomfortable holding it arms up for too long. I mainly use my Steam Deck at work to grind mats on Final Fantasy 14 and wanted to be able to sit back while I have my Steam Deck on it's stand integrated into the case I have on it. So I looked for the smallest bluetooth controller on here and found this little gem. It's a super tiny controller, however you can tell it has a really good build quality and has a good layout. There were some other small controllers I found, but some of them had the trigger and shoulder buttons side-to-side rather than front-to-back like this one. I also like how the d-pad is on the inner bottom side rather than on the outside like the Steam Deck. Joysticks feel very similar to the Joycons, very short travel distance from the center, but decent for the casual gaming I'm doing. Also, if connecting to the Steam Deck run the 8bitdo Lite 2 as a Switch controller (S setting selector in the middle of controller) not the Android setting (D setting selector in the middle of controller), and the Steam Deck will recognize it as a Switch Pro controller. I tried connecting it through the Android bluetooth setting and it had some issues. Took me a minute to realize this, but the charging light is at the top, on the bottom are the lights to show if the controller is on, if bluetooth syncing is on, and what player you are for Switch. I know this was designed mainly for the Switch and the colors were developed for that in mind, but I really wished there were more color options! Other than that I have had no issues with the controller. ... show more

  • Excellent portability, mostly responsive
Color: Turquoise
Worst up front: the buttons are unresponsive in quick succession. I’ve read other reviews describe the buttons as mushy, but to me they seem to like a more firm press than the pro controller and require more pressure. However, as a result I’ve noticed times where the buttons are unresponsive in some games. This is especially prevalent in Mario Party counting games where the controller may not always count correctly. It’s important to note that this is a very specific scenario and does not impact my overall opinion of the controller. In general the controller is amazing. It’s perfect for portability and easily pairs with other Switch consoles when moving between units. Testing on a variety of games yielded comparable results to a pro controller. Though I noticed that due to how short the joystick is compared to the Switch Pro Controller or SN30 Pro that it’s easy to over-compensate on the tilt, which can take a bit of getting used to. The motion controls are solid and responsive. In FPS games where motion aim is available the movement is fluid. It felt like using a Pro Controller. Something that I appreciate from the previous iteration is that they moved the ZL and ZR to shoulder buttons instead of placing them in line with the L and R, resulting in fewer wrong buttons pressed. I tested the controller as my dedicated controller for 1 week, and during that time I found that it became unresponsive one time during gameplay for a few seconds. This was roughly 2 hours into a gaming session of Mario Party. I have no explanation for that and I’ve been unable to recreate it since. ... show more

  • The NEW standard for portability...
Color: Turquoise
7/29/22: The new 8bitdo Lite 2 controller is excellent for its size and portability. I have spent roughly 2 hours testing the controller with games in 3 categories with turn based(Jrpgs like FF7,FF8, card games), action combat(Genshin Impact), and fighting(Multiversus). This controller is suitable for anything that requires rolling your thumb on the d-pad for rapid directional input changes specifically in fighting games if you use the dpad however if you use the joystick for fighting games this can be ignored(I'd avoid using the joystick on this controller for fighting games as the joystick on this controller isn't made to be abused in fighting games). You can still get miss inputs with the smaller than normal sized dpads(reminiscent of the 3DS dpad but less tactile due to the small rubber membrane). Since this controller also doesn't have analog triggers, I can't recommend this controller to people for racing games. In comparison with the SN30 Pro that I daily drive(I dislike analog triggers for all of my non-racing games) for all of my pc gaming, I actually prefer the slightly smaller and much lighter weight Lite 2 controller. Hard to beat this controller for its lightweight, portability, and all of the 8bitdo macro features at $35 to which I can highly recommend this controller to everyone besides the racing genre gamers. ... show more

  • Well built extra controller on the go
Color: Turquoise
Good build, light but not cheap. Compact size makes for easy on the go trips. Small just enough without feeling too cramped and responsive buttons also has rumble feature. D-pad may take getting used to for others but I found it easy to play. Wish they had more colors, maybe indigo but other than that if you know what you're getting into I'd say it's a good buy. ... show more

  • Great Bookbag Piece
Color: Turquoise
I got this for dual joy sticks and triggers, but also wanted to retain the small size (at least a little bit) of the Zero Two, seeing as I do a lot of gaming on the go with emulation and such. When I ordered it, I wasn't entirely sure of the form-factor, but I was completely satisfied upon arrival. This fits perfectly in a pocket or bookbag and setup is easy, as it is with the Zero Two, and I carry both wherever I go. If you're looking for something small, slim, and negligible when traveling, I'd go this route . ... show more
