This is the perfect set for anyone getting starting using resin since it has so many options. The colors are pretty opaque which is good if you want light colored resin but does mean you have to use a lot of powder to get anything dark. I bought this for my polymer clay crafts not realizing how cool this product is. A little does go a long way, so do not think that the small portion is not worth it. I have used this for so many craft projects and it adds an awesome color changing effect in any project!

    • Bright colors, bad packaging, trouble mixing in soap bases

The colors are bright and vivid, and this pack contains many pretty shades. Most performed well. Some colors didn't seem to mix well into soap bases. I'm new at soap making (melt & pour), but I can recognize inconsistencies. All pigments were mixed the same way - pre-mix with alcohol before mixing into soap base. Some colors (especially the more metallic-like shades) just didn't seem to mix. It left noticeable swirls in the soaps. (The swirls were pretty, but not what I was going for.) Others blended well into the soap. It was hit-and-miss. Also the packaging was a bit of a mess. The powders come in individual zip-top baggies. About half of them had opened during (or before) shipment, so handling them was quite messy. There's enough powder in each baggie for 2-3 batches of soap (4-6 bars/batch), depending on your base and desired color strength. Even with the downsides, I'd probably purchase again. ... show more
