This faux grass paneling is thinner backed and sparser than I needed. It's not bad quality just looks cheap because it's sparse. I liked it because it was a brighter green than most and I wanted options for my photography background. For these to work, I will have to find a colored backing to make it look fuller.     • Good for Apartments or Small Spaces
If you've never used this type of grass tile before, it's good to know that it is best used on a relatively rigid underlayment, like a deck, porch, or Lanai. It can certainly be used outdoors on natural surfaces, but you will definitely need to do a bit of prep work, leveling the ground, or even putting some fine gravel underneath to firm it up. Once installed, it looks great, and holds up well to walking. It's not something you'd want to use for sports, as it is not, strictly speaking, supposed to be used like astroturf. It is more on the decorative side, which is fine. It drains well and rinses well, making it ideal to create a small dog area for your pets. It's easy to remove solid waste, then hose it off to get it clean. Any sort of debris or leaves from surrounding areas can be easily blown off with a leaf blower, and when needed, you can groom the grass to stand up nicely with a brush or lightweight rake. All in all, as long as you know what you're getting, these are great for adding a pop of color and nature to an area that might otherwise be difficult to grow grass. ... show more

I started out with a preconceived idea of how I was going to use this as 6 attached pcs. of 144 sq. ft. Instead, I found 3 other uses as you can see in the photos. I'm a lawn nerd, so I appreciate the details that went into manufacturing these squares. The brown blade colors blend well with the green to give it a realistic feel. The tiles go together as easy as puzzle pieces. The direction of the grass blades should be facing the same direction for best blending of lines between tiles. See the pen photo that marks the tile seam underneath. I vacuumed over these with a hand vacuum and nonissues with blades being pulled out. It looks real enough. I placed a tile on top of my Bermuda lawn, and not bad, not bad at all I say (last 2 photos). I'm not sure how durable these will be outside, but if it is being used in a shaded patio area, I think this could last many years - depending on sun and rain exposure. In summary, this set of lawn tiles is well made, easy to put together, can be vacuumed, and is light enough to move around. Highly recommended. ... show more

I have 4 dogs and live in the desert, I thought this might be an alternative to the rolled fake grass. The concept is nice, good drainage for easy cleaning but if you are trying to make a larger area I don't see how this will work. It's challenging to get the pieces locked together and that would only get more difficult the more pieces you add on. Another issue for my location is the wind. This small section would easily get blown away since there is nothing holding it down. Also, as with most fake grass it does get hot in the sun. This made a nice little doormat size patch for one small dog to relax on and it was simple to figure out how they lock together. ... show more

This is enough to have a 6 ft strip of "grass" in my kitchen patio of our apartment. This is fine if you have a very small area to fill in with turf but if you have a larger area, I wouldn't use this but get a single piece of turf for your space. ... show more

    • My Rainbow Bridge Dogs Love Their Faux Grass Squares
Many pet lovers have sadly been there. Losing a pet is just so painfully awful, but having their remains on the other hand is wonderful. I happen to have three rainbow bridge dogs. I deeply loved them and wanted something special to place underneath their ashes. When I saw the individual lovely grass- green squares I now have, advertised on Amazon, I just knew my dogs would love them. I knew they would look great. I now have my dogs ashes sitting pretty, each one reminding me of the times we were in the park together, and just how much they loved the comfort of the grass under their feet. Having these grass squares available as a resting place for my dogs brightens my day. They are movable, and therefore portable, and knowing they would appreciate the extra care I have given them as I always have. I recently had a lot of landscape work done in my backyard. While I was waiting for grass to grow and cover up the mud, I got these thinking they would help. However, the backing is quite thin, the "grass" is more yellow than green, and the material doesn't hold up well. Maybe if you were going to create the world's most fragile, single hole putt putt course this would work. ... show more
