  • Very sturdy and worth it
purchased for my grandsons to use when visiting..... it is large.... large enough for an an adult to get into. The material is a cotton canvas... not terribly thick, but not too thin in my opinion. It was relatively easy to put together... I like that this is a bottom floor attached. It is quite popular to stay grandma's and camp out.... I added some "nap pads" which are perfect for the 5 and 2 year old. I also added a stuffed bear and alligator and a camp lantern that is a lantern or a star map night light. Honestly, I keep it up in the corner of my living room so it is ready for any visit. It does come with a handy bag that has a handle if you'd like to store it when not in use. The poles are wood... a pine I believe... very sturdy. I would recommend this teepee... I always update if there are any issues that may be helpful. 3/25/2016 UPDATE: ...so I just finished deconstructing the teepee and felt an undate with tips might be helpful... first... you will never get the canvas teepee back into the canvas bag provided... it's like folding/rolling a really thick fitted sheet and trying to get into a tube sock.... BUT the wooden poles fit nicely into the canvas bag along with the plastic connector pieces... it would have been nice if the connectors gripped the poles better and stayed connected during the deconstruct phase... however... I just removed all the holed top pieces and then turned the teepee upside down and shook it sort of like a pillow case... the lower pieces eventually come out... I just rolled the teepee up, put all the poles and connector pieces in the bag and set in a large drawer I have. I would have lowered my rating one star for the deconstruct hassle, but honestly, my grandsons love it so much I just can't. The quality is such that this is going to last for many years if we take care of it. It's just a matter of learning how to use it in an efficient manner. Also... I have hard wood floors, so I went to a local carpet store and purchased some carpet padding. I cut into a circle and place it under the teepee when I have it set up... I worry less about bonked heads that way - grandsons 5 years and 2 years. Ok! Hope this is indeed helpful info! ... show more

  • I secretly got this for myself! 😁
I saw this in a Facebook article that listed some must buy items on Amazon or something to that effect. I wasn't in the market for an indoor teepee at all, and especially at this price. However, I have a special needs child who LOVES to be in cozy small spaces like this. I thought of him and I went I saw it. Then I thought about how much I would love to have it as well. Thankfully it's large enough for both of us to go inside! For one thing it's HUGE. Not like you can actually camp in it huge, but it's larger than the ones you see in stores that a small child can barely get inside of and they're usually made of crappy material. This is made of actual canvas, not that new plastic material that they are calling canvas. This is actual thick, white, cotton canvas. It's hard to find much made out of that anymore so that is what really sold me. I love unique furniture so I bought this with intentions of staying in one of our living rooms rather than his small bedroom. This would be much too large for his small space. I didn't have any issue putting it together, it's a big awkward and I'm grateful for tall ceilings, an average ceiling I would have smacked the poles into a few times I'm sure but with my 10 foot ceilings I had no issue. The poles also stay together nicely so I'm not sure if they changed something or what but I read a few reviews complaining about this and it's been just fine. My only issue is that the poles at the bottom keep pushing in towards the center of the teepee and I keep pushing them back out, maybe I just need to loosen the ties or something I haven't really messed with it since putting it up. There is velcro closures on the door and one on the window. I HATE HATE HATE Velcro as wear clothing that gets easily snagged sometimes especially with it being winter. I had a brand new sweater on that got snagged when I was going inside for the first time. I might find a way to remove those or something as I'm not a fan of it. I also saw complaints about how it was packaged and shipped as well as mold. Mine came inside of a plastic bag that was clear and sealed, that was inside of a box and then that box was inside of another box. It was VERY well packaged and has no damage whatsoever. There are no odors, just smells like new wood and canvas fabric, and there was no mold at all. My guess is those came from a warehouse where they had a flood or something because I don't see how it could get moldy when it's packaged like mine was. I'm also a very amateur photographer so I'm excited for summer when I plan to take this outside and take some pictures of my kids with it as a photo prop I think it would be neat since we have Native American in our blood. I also imagine it will be nice and cool as well as shady to use outside though I'm not sure you'd want to put it directly on the ground being white. I might buy a tarp to put underneath if we use it outside. I've also ordered a papasan cushion from Pier 1 since we have hard wood floors it's not comfortable being inside for a long time so hopefully that alleviates that! ... show more

  • Love the size.
I like how sturdy it is. How easy it was to put together and take down. I like that my grandkids could paint and draw on it. I would purchase it again.

  • WINNER-WINNER
Okay, JUST finished putting this together and HAD to write a review. First of all, I looked, looked and LOOKED for a good teepee for the kiddos, and decided that for the money and size this one was a winner. Do I really need to spend upwards of $200 on a child's tent? NO WAY. This one is PERFECT--great size, quality materials and seems pretty darn sturdy. Set-up is very straightforward, and there are clear step-by-step instructions included. If you've ever assembled a simple a-frame tent--i.e., slide the pole through the sleeve, you've got this in the bag. It probably would've taken me 4 minutes if I didn't have two very enthusiastic toddlers "helping" me, but even so it was completely set up in about 15 minutes. The most challenging part was threading the ties through each pre-drilled hole. Save yourself a lot of time and get out a thin screwdriver, and punch those bad boys through. Now, if you are planning to buy those "Teepee lights" from Hearth song or wherever--NOTE they need to be put in the sleeve WITH the stakes. WOOPS. After assembling it, getting the strings through the holes and tying it off, there was no way I was taking it apart again to thread each light down the sleeve. I improvised! I cut a 5' piece of wire, lightly taped each end of the lights to the end and threaded them down the sleeve, one at a time. Done. Bingo. Mom wins. If you find yourself improvising do be careful with the toddlers running around as the wire ends are sharp and pokey. Trying to restrain them for this part was hard, but they are now happily playing in their new teepee. ... show more
