I'm in the process of organizing and finding a local storage to back up my photos. This hard drive comes in handy; it works out of the box on an apple silicon chip macbook (m1), and the upload speed is pretty fast. The packaging looked good and the external hard drive itself felt nice to touch, in addition to a pleasant design. Overall, I'm really satisfied with it in both the aesthetic and functional aspects. I also really like how it comes with a USB C adapter, so not only can I just use it out the box, but use the adapter to help convert other usb a cables. 5TB Hard Drive worked well for about two months and then it stopped working; the Hard Drive is no longer recognized by my computer or several others I have tried. I have tried all trouble shooting suggestions and those have not worked. There is no easy way to contact the company and ask for customer support - a simple search on the internet provides nothing that is useful. I contacted Amazon for help in contacting the company and was provided a link that brought me back to the Amazon page. I am not very hopeful that I will be able to retrieve what I have stored on the Hard Drive. I will need to purchase another hard drive, but will not be purchasing from this company. Glad that others found the product to be to their liking, but I am very disappointed. As an update, through Amazon, I was able to interact with the company and they will be replacing my hard drive - hopefully, that one will work better (and longer). ... show more

    • Great replacement for the new, improved Seagate 5Tb Drive that now does have the password road block

The A4 Aiolo drive is what the Seagate 5 Tb drive tried to improve with a necessary password feature that is now supposed to be an addition to their very functional previously easy to use drive, but the powers that forced the drive to be specific to Windows or Apple, just lost the Linux community. What a waste. This new Aiolo drive is just as easy and works with Linux just fine, just like the good old Seagate drive that used to be the go-to-drive when you need a good place to put lots of data fast. If you need to secure the drive, getting it into a strong-hold is better than a password and a lot friendlier. ... show more
