This thing pulled 48.5 watts at the wall, but generated less than 900 lux when attached to a piece of 1/4in aluminum plate with thermal compound. within 30 seconds the aluminum at the far end of the 14in piece I was using was too hot to touch. Back it goes.

    • Short life span!
Bought this in February 2020 November 2020 it died with a maximum of 3600hrs on it and thats a stretch. Used 1/8 aluminum plate with 6x6x3/4 heat sink thermal paste and Cpu fan.Brightness is great but disappointed in life So much for 50,000 hrs.

DIY people, this has you written all over it. You need to use a heat sink along with possible passive cooling. This sucker get hot! The light output is incredible, and even. These are pretty great for the money. I used two for a weed grow light. Worked well for seedlings and veg for a plant or two. Would probly be fine for vegetables and plants just wouldn’t wanna flower weed with them. Pretty yellow light. Great for learning to build lights.

Only dislike is they don't last too long. I have 4 fans on a 1/4 aluminum heat sink they still burnt out in about 2 months but they're cheap so can't complain too much
