  • Seems very effective
I applied this to some masonry/stone work on some post piers and vertical retaining wall. I used the sx5000WB. I applied it with a brush due to the vertical nature of it. Very easy to apply. As they advise, apply second coat about 10-15 minutes after the first, it will still have a somewhat wet appearance on masonry while the stones appeared dry. If you wait longer it will not be absorbed and just beads up and runs off. Done as advised the second coat will be absorbed and be effective. As my project was somewhat large I would do what I could for a 10-15 minute window and then return to that start and apply the second coat. It sheds water just as well as the pictures demonstrate. There was no obnoxious odor with the water based and they say it’s as effective as the solvent based. If it lasts the 7-10 years it states, it will be really great. Couldn’t have been easier, water clean up of brushes and very happy with results so far. ... show more

  • Excellent penetrating sealant
Easy to apply. I used a 18" thick fuzz roller for application and a large rectangular bucket for the liquid. Clean up with soap and water. Wear gloves during application. Liquid is translucent white and then clear on the concrete. Not very thick, easy to spread. I probably spread more on in one coat using a roller than if used a sprayer. Did 2nd coat on stamped concrete areas but it needed very little. Ever so slightly more shiny after it dries than the concrete had been, even though it says matte finish, but really just looks "finished" and new looking. And the concrete needed to be sealed so was worn out. Applied it onto colored stamped concrete pool patio, walkways, terraces, and staircases; and on pebbled concrete sidewalks - all in Indiana. Did well after a year, supposed to last many years. Dripping after swimming in the pool also revealed a sealed surface but is never slippery to walk barefoot on. Made pressure washing easier this year, less dirt accumulated. Used on an outdoor porch floor made of pinkish beige concrete pavers in Florida and a regular gray concrete sidewalk. Plan to do the whole concrete driveway next winter. Rain pools in small droplets once the sealant dries. Like that it is not a surface sealant, rather penetrating, and the type of chemicals used by federal DOT on highways. Have bought more than 4 large containers (5 gallons each) in the past year or so. Pleased with the results. Price point better than similar chemicals from other companies. ... show more

  • Amazing and Easy!
This product does an absolutely amazing job at sealing concrete. Our driveway is aging, but after a proper power washing and applying this, it looks new again. Application is straightforward and easy. The directions are clear and when applied correctly, the concrete is basically waterproof. We are in a heavily wooded area so we get tons of sticks, twigs, leaves and other natural debris that degrades into the small pieces inviting other growth on the drive constantly. Naturally, it adheres to the concrete and darkens it over time. With this, the stuff washes off with a hose and the water runs off of it. We couldn't be happier with this product! We've tried 3 other products over the decades we've lived here, but this is the one that works! ... show more

  • So far, so good
This product was used to seal a new pool deck of Tremron brick pavers. I used a Chapin backpack sprayer (rechargeable) and it worked like a charm. A little “Home Depot” pesticide sprayer will not work because it delivers too little product, and you’ll be stopping every few minutes to re-pressurize the sprayer. You need some volume and to keep going. This product applied exactly as they said. It had almost no discernible odor, sprayed super evenly, and was a “snap” to clean up. The directions are easy to follow and you can’t screw up, you just need a good backpack sprayer. The application coverage was accurate to what they stated. The material did a nice job tightening up the sand between the pavers. The sealant did NOT affect the color, or sheen of the pavers. They look exactly the same as they did before I sealed them. It’s only been a month, so I don’t know how well it will last, but so far it works great. Here in Florida we get a good amount of summer rain, and the water isn’t absorbing into the pavers at all. If it lasts 5-7 years I’ll be back for more and let you know. I did A LOT of research on “sealers” before I purchased this, and believe it’s the “right” product for this application ... show more

  • Excellent sealer for my stone veneer columns
Applied sealer to my concrete stone veneer gate columns. For the first coat, product was quickly absorbed. On the second coat application the next day, I could tell the stones were not absorbing as much product, but took it. There was little color change and the stones had more of a wet look. It rained a few days later and the water completely beaded up on the column caps. I have worked with similiar sealers before, but never a product like this -- it really works. After 2 months, the stones were losing a little of the "wet" look, so decided to apply a 3rd coat for extra assurance. The 3rd coat barely took any product, so was probably unnecessary. The "wet" look vanished for me after ~ 1-2 months, but do not be deceived, it's still works. I'll check in 5 years if it needs a reapplication. Also, I will say the product is very easy and fast to apply, I just slop it on with a fully saturated 5" brush and rough brush it everywhere -- done. ... show more
