Installed 2 of these for a 6' wooden gate that allows access to my backyard, one near the top and the second at mid level. Both have now failed; the wood screws and brackets are still in place but the bolts holding the latch pieces to the brackets sheared in two and the latches are off. No simple fix seems apparent; I'm in the Southeast so there's some wind but not gale forces types. Can't recommend these for anyplace where weather is a factor. ... show more

    • Perfect for what I wanted
I like everything about this gate latch. I put it on my front yard fence I built that is only 3 1/2 feet tall to keep the dogs in. I looks great, very easy to install, strong enough to keep two 75 pounds dog secured, and the mail carrier loves the ease of using it.

The Latch is nice looking, very solid and easy to install. I used this on a double gate that I made for my front porch. I would definitely purchase one again.

When exiting gate, I must latch gate to keep dogs in yard. This latch makes it easy and secure.
