These compact sized canvas are a comfortable size to enjoy as part of a daily painting practice. I find them ideal for when I want to paint early in the day but don’t want to get drawn into hours and hours of trying to finish a piece. With so many of them, I don’t have to be overly concerned about trying to make the most of each painting session - and that makes for much more relaxing and sustainable practice as far as I’m concerned. This set of canvases came with a nice 10 piece assortment of basic quality paint brushes in a number of shapes and sizes all suited for working on a canvas of this size. I thought that was an especially nice touch and should be helpful for anyone who is used to working in a larger format and who may not have a favorite set of small brush yet. The brushes were all labeled with brush size so that once you find what works best for you for small canvas painting, it’s easy to know what size to get if you want to get fancier brushes. I have bigger sizes of these canvases. I love painting on them. These are a really great price also. I got these 5 x 7 canvases to experiment on new techniques. Sometimes learning new things gets expensive on large canvases. These are the perfect size to learn but save money on supplies. I love painting on these also. They stay smooth.
