I've been wanting one of these for a while. The real m4 gts version of this is so expensive. This is nice for the price. It looks so good. I opted for non carbon because I plan to wrap it myself with nicer carbon that looks more real. It's lightweight, but not too light where it feels cheap. You will need to put it together but all of the parts are included. Stands are metal. Spoiler and sides are plastic or fiberglass. As long as it's bolted correctly, it should stay on. I have a car wash membership, but I'm not sure if I'll drive this through it. I'm waiting for a non rainy day to install it. ... show more

  • Requires refinishing, but otherwise good.

Let's start with what's good. It's stylish. It's well made. All the pieces look the part. And it'll give your ride a REALLY good look when it's all said and done. In all, I think it's worth the money...pretty much. I'm getting to that...but first, for the purposes of this review, I'm going to tell you a bit about my background, and how it pertains to this review and the 3-star rating. When I was in high school, I was a very "hands-on" mechanical type of guy, so I went to a vo-tech school and took Auto Body vocationally. After high school and a stint in the military, I got back into auto body and spent a few years at one of the largest custom limousine manufacturers in the mid-west working in the body shop. More specifically, I worked in the area known as "final prep", which was the final stage down the line before paint is put on the car. Everyone else's body work could be so-so. But when it leaves final prep, it's nothing but flawless primer ready for paint. Or it's thousands of dollars down the tube stripping and re-painting. So, not only do I KNOW body and paint work, but I am as knowledgeable a source about the subject as you are likely to find outside of, say, 3-M or Dupont. I say this all because I gave this wing 3 stars, and the reason I gave it 3 stars was because of the prolific sand scratches throughout the entire wing. And I mean everywhere, what looked to me to be probably 320 grit sand scratches clearly visible. Now, 320 grit final-sanding your surface is fine if you're not a perfectionist like I am who likes to finish on 400 or even finer. But, AFTER you final sand, you're supposed to shoot a coat or 2 of PRIMER FILLER to fill those sand scratches in. After which, you knock down your primer filler with a scotch brite pad and a little guide coat and you're ready to paint, provided you don't find any imperfections with your guide coat in the primer filler. And you can even shoot on a coat of primer sealer, if you're really trying to make it look pretty. But honestly? I think they sanded the base material with 320 grit, and then shot black paint over it. If I had to guess at the process from looking at it, that's what happened. I doubt I'd find a coat of primer under this paint, but even if I did, it clearly wouldn't have been enough. I'm pretty sure it isn't clear-coated, either. I also found at least one physical flaw in the finish. Enough to make me wince at a new wing. Now, they offer this in a carbon fiber and a matte, and the finish processes might be different for those (it should be for the carbon fiber, at least), so those wings MIGHT not exhibit any sand scratches, and might not require re-finishing. But this? I wouldn't put this on a vehicle looking like this. I'm going to re-finish this one, personally. And since I have to do it anyway, I might just paint it to match my car...who knows. We'll see once I get the spray gun in my hand. I might just spray it fluorescent green, who knows. But, no, probably black, or body-match. We'll see. The question is, is it worth it? It's worth it to 2 different types of folks. Folks who say, "Sand scratches? They won't see em, I'll be lapping em so fast." They won't care. And folks like me, who will just shrug their shoulders and start setting up their HVLP. I have sandpaper for my DA. It ain't a thing, I can re-paint this in an afternoon and have it looking concourse-ready. They won't care either. But if you're buying this hoping it's car-show ready, it's not. It needs a little paint work first. If you want something ready to fly, maybe check this out in carbon fiber. If it wasn't as horribly sand-scratchy like it is? I would have rated it 5 stars. But anything I have to sand and repaint...that's more effort than I was planning. Work on your re-finish process, guys. You have a good start. Now just add the intermediate steps that make for a shiny, glossy product. 3 stars, and I do recommend it, if you don't mind a little paint work. ... show more
