  • Great nighlights for the house!
Size: Duplex Color: White
The SnapPower GuideLight is an exceptional product that I’m thrilled to have added to my home. This 4-pack is a fantastic value, offering four high-quality guide lights for a reasonable price. Installation couldn’t be simpler—just snap them on, and you’re good to go. Just remember to turn off the power to the outlet before installing for safety. Once in place, these lights look great and blend seamlessly with your outlets, adding a sleek, modern touch to any room. The light output is impressive, providing just the right amount of illumination without being too harsh. The automatic on/off feature, which activates based on ambient lighting, is a brilliant addition, ensuring that the lights are only on when needed. I also appreciate that the SnapPower GuideLight is UL Listed, which adds an extra layer of reassurance regarding safety and quality. Overall, I would highly recommend the SnapPower GuideLight. It offers ease of installation, excellent performance, and a stylish design that enhances both functionality and aesthetics. If you’re looking for a convenient and effective lighting solution, this product is a top choice. ... show more

  • Genius product! Easy install, great addition!
Saw this product online somewhere and just had to get one to see if they were really as advertised. Let me just say that this is a genius alternative to regular outlet faceplates! They really are extremely easy to install. They look great and put out just the right amount of light. The only issue I have, is that mine is installed on the landing in the middle of our staircase. The overhead recessed lights are nearly directly above the socket, so the light sensor does not detect enough light to turn off the LEDs. In result, they stay on all the time. It's not a big deal, but could easily be fixed by making the sensor protrude out slightly, rather than flush with the faceplate. I wish SnapPower had a faceplate with the LEDs on the side of the faceplate. I've got outlets in my bathrooms that are horizontal. I would love to have these in my bathrooms. I'm already trying to find other faceplates that I can swap out for some of these! *** UPDATE: 2-11-2017 *** After actually needing to use the outlet (for a wireless network access point), I found that the light sensor can become completely covered up if you plug anything into the outlet that is larger than an actual power cord. Still love the product though. This could easily be fixed by moving the sensor to the top of the outlet. I don't recommend altering this product, but having experience with this type of thing, I'm going to take mine off and attempt to relocate the sensor to the top! ... show more

  • I like these!
I have installed four of these innovative night lights in my house so far. I am very happy with how they work and how easy they are to install. One SnapPower Guidelight is in the front hallway on a regular decora wall plug. It was very easy to install. Three more SnapPower Guidelight devices are installed on regular decra wall plugs that are on GFCI "protected" circuits in a bathroom over a sink and in the kitchen over the countertops. GFCI stands for ground-fault circuit interrupter. Now this is important: If those outlets had been actual GFCI outlets, then the SnapPower device would not have lit up their three LED lights. That is because GFCI plugs are built differently than regular outlets. GFCI plugs do not have electrically charged screws located on their sides in the same place that regular outlets have theirs located. So the SnapPower device will not fit right on a GFCI outlet to receive electricity to power the LED lights. Take that into account when you are deciding where you want to put them and how many to buy, and then you should be fine. I did have a problem installing the device on one outlet. After repeatedly inserting and removing the device, I finally took an actual look at the outlet installed inside the wall box. I found the problem. This outlet had black electrical tape wrapped around the terminals on its sides. That prevented the SnapPower Guidelight from making proper contact with the outlets' electric power terminals. I cut back the tape from the terminals on both sides, and then it worked just like the other ones I installed. As for why there was the electrical tape on some outlets and not on other outlets, the answer is that some electricians are more cautious. They do this to prevent potential problems later on. They use the belt AND suspenders technique to prevent electrical shorts from happening inside the wall box. You do need to know this next fact when you decide where to install these lights. The LED lights will be shining down if the outlet was installed with its ground hole on the bottom side of each socket. The LED lights will be shining up if the outlet was installed upside down, with its ground hole on the top side of each socket. This is important to know because there may be places you want it shining downward where you do not want it to shine upward, and vice versa. My only complaint about this device is that the photo sensor is not sensitive enough to the ambient light in the room. It often does not cut off the LED light in the daytime. It lights up when there is adequate natural light to see with, but the LED lights do turn off when there is slightly brighter daylight. This condition means the device uses a couple extra pennies a year of electricity because it is lit in the daytime when it is not needed. However, they claim that it now uses about ten cents a year in electricity, so fixing that problem is not very significant. They should fix the sensor eventually, but it is so good now that they may not get around to doing that anytime soon. ... show more

  • These work very well. They are enough light in a dark house.
Size: Duplex Color: White
There are several models and I have three of them. The single light switch plates aren't as bright as the others. The socket covers, double, and triple switch covers are much brighter. The Snap Power cover plate on the double switch at the top of the stairs has turned them from pitch black to well enough lit to not need the main lights when we head up to bed. The Galaxy S22 camera sees much better at night than human eyes, so these pictures are brighter than the real thing. In both cases there was no other lighting. These lights aren't cheap, but they work very well. For a couple of dollars in parts they are expensive, cheaper ones will come along, but right now they seem to have the market cornered. ... show more

  • Easy way to elevate a room
Size: Duplex Color: White
Love these! A very simple way to elevate a room. Installation is as easy as it looks. Only downside is the light is a little cooler than I prefer, but that is LED. A little pricy for what they are, but worth it if they last as long as advertised. Plan on getting more.
