I bought these to help support my double gate by the driveway. While these are good with the support around the corner of the post, the problem is if you have to flip the mount for a left swing in/towards you gate. In order to do so you have to pull the roll pin out the rod so you can slide the wheel/rod out while being careful of the loaded spring and washer. Flip the mount and good luck trying your best keeping the spring down, holding the washer-rod in place AND then trying to push the roll pin back in. after the hell of swapping plate position, it works well on finished surfaces. Don't have dirt or grass but I can't imagine this to fair well on soggy or squishy ground. Those types of ground need an off road looking or pneumatic tire. My biggest gripe is that the screw positions for the closest to the corner are too close to the corner. If you use those, the screws will definitely split the wood/PVC too close to the edge - maybe you'll stand a chance if you drill a pilot hole first but you'd be better off using the outer 3 holes and the ones around the corner. I will update if anything changes ... show more

My backyard wooden gate was dragging on uneven concrete. This solved the problem by raising the gate off the ground. Installation does take some time for careful measurement and drilling, but that depends on one's experience. The product itself is well designed.

I installed this on a metal gate that weighed way less than the max weight in the listing. It broke after only opening that gate 20-30 times on level, smooth cement - 5 days after the return window.
