  • Overall nice tank with some shortcomings...
I am using this tank as a breeder for dwarf shrimp, and I had to make a few adjustments in order for it to meet my needs, but overall it's a nice looking and solid tank. The filter has a dual flow setup that is non adjustable, so water will come out of the powerhead under the water horizontally as well as the filter bar at the top. The water going through the filter bar is filtered through a pad that then allows the water to flow back into the top middle section of the water surface. The power from the underwater powerhead is quite strong and would have been blowing my shrimp around, so I decided to block it up with some filter floss, so now all of the water flows through the filter bar and through the filter pad. Much better! There should be an option to adjust the flow of the powerhead but this worked in a pinch. The filter is plenty strong for this sized tank and is very quiet. The filter also did not come with a sponge prefilter, so if you have small shrimp or fry, be sure to add your own on the intake tube. I think with nano tanks, they should come with a prefilter...most of us are keeping smaller sized specimens, afterall. The light that is included is adequate but will probably only grow floating plants. Mine was missing the mounts to install it in the clips in the lid. So I just float it at the surface which is far from ideal but its what I got. Overall, 4 stars! Its a solid base setup but missing a few things such as a heater, light clips, and prefilter on the intake. You could make it your own setup easily and change filters or lighting as well. The curved clear edges are a nice touch! Looks very cool. Thank you and I hope this was helpful. ... show more

  • Nice Starter Aquarium
The media could not be loaded. It says it's glass, but I think it is some type of acrylic. Update pending.

  • Like the tank, not the top
The media could not be loaded. Got this to replace a plastic 3.5-gallon half-dome aquarium that I wasn't getting good views of my betta in. And the plastic was a pain to try not to scratch when cleaning. This tank is nice and I can see the betta now no matter where he is in the tank. The rounded front corners are a nice touch and don't distort the view too much. The construction of this tank is a little messy with the silicone leaving strings and globbing in some places, but it does seem to be holding water well. The part that fails is the connection between the top of the tank glass and the plastic above. While I was setting the tank up, the entire top came off. The good news is I don't think this will impact the structural integrity of the tank, especially since it is a smaller volume, but DO NOT ever lift this tank by the top rim or it might fall and shatter. The funny part is that I am not a huge fan of the top plastic pieces where the filter area is and the lid is my least favorite part because there is no smaller opening to feed the fish, you have to open the whole top and then get blinded by the light (which is attached to the top). The Sanosy-colored part is a sticker, not an opening. It also makes it difficult to do maintenance on the tank because the light no longer shines into the tank but in your face. I tried running the filter that came with the tank and it does reach the bottom of the tank and does a good job at circulating the water, but is too strong for a betta due to the powerhead output blowing across the tank. The top waterfall part is okay, and the sponge design is nice, but the water returning to the tank is quite loud and patchy rather than a quiet, evenly distributed waterfall. I decided to ultimately just keep the sponge filter I had before. The light that comes with the kit is nice, but I can't tell if it is submersible or not. It also is only white LEDs with a single blue LED so no reds for my live plants. I decided to use the submersible grow light I had before. The tricky thing is nothing will suction cup to the inside of the lid because it is textured so I had to get creative and ended up scrunching the suction cups into the clips the default light would have sat it. It means my light sits in the water when the tank is full, but my light should be able to take it. Because the top is already coming off, I think I might eventually try to turn this into a rimless tank and put a glass lid on the top, but for now everything works. ... show more

  • Great Temporary Tank
This tank is perfect for keeping my fish while I clean their large tank. It comes with a submersible pump and a 100 w heater. This is great for my saltwater fish.

  • A nice little tank
I think what makes this tank unique is the fact that it has rounded corners in front yet it is made of glass and not plastic. Not a bad little tank, the frame seems very sturdy. The filter set up is fairly unique, however, it should work OK. I have not done a leak test yet on the tank, however, the silicone looks well done. The only thing I would be uncertain of is the lighting, whether or not it could support plants. I think low light plants like Java, moss, or Java fern may do all right. The light looks of a very good quality, and the color looks correct for us the support of plants. The size of this tank will limit the fish that you can have in it. It would be ideal for a male beta fish, or half a dozen white mountain minnows. If you are planning on putting tropical fish in the tank, you are going to need a heater, which does not come with the aquarium. However, you could buy a 25 W heater that should do the job. You should not need a heater for a cold water fish, like white mountain minnows, or shrimp, however, Bettas or other tropical fish will require a heater. Just keep that in mind. ... show more

  • Great Starter Setup
These small tanks are great for gifts, first tanks for kids getting their first betta fish. The price is great, as most LFS will have you spending well over $100. Obviously you’ll need to provide your own substrate. I prefer sand. Tank is able to hold the heater and some decorations. Shipped perfectly well!! This is 100% as advertised. ... show more
