Updated review 7/14/24: After my original review of this wetsuit having a terrible fit that was more for women than men, the mfr reached out to me and made it right. They acknowledged the measurements and made a recommendation as to a better size, and updated their size descriptions on their store website. I had them send me a size Large/Tall (photos) which fit MUCH better than the size XL. Ironically, going down one size and up to a tall, the chest/shoulders and arms were not as tight or constricting, and the legs and hips fit better. I also decided to try the full-front zipper. Most of my wetsuits are back zipper or partial front. Unlike other front zipper wetsuits I've worn, this front zipper wetsuit is comfortable, I can hardly tell that there is a zipper there. For the outstanding customer service and a much better fitting wetsuit, albeit the hips are still a little wide (but would be great for females), I up'd my review to 4 1/2 stars. Original review... I am a male, 6'2", 185 lbs, slim athletic build with thin arms and legs. I ordered an XL. The chest and shoulders are kinda tight, but arms are VERY tight (as I stated, I have thin arms and legs and this is an XL), and the legs are very loose. Additionally, the waste is loose and the hips are SUPER wide! The legs cuffs are open and, with the wide hips, oversized waste and behind, will only allow a rush of water to continue to circulate in and out of the suit, completely negating the function of your body warming the water. I live in northern California where the water and aridity require me to wear a wetsuit when body surfing in the ocean (~58 degrees F) or windsurfing in the bay (~68 degrees F), even on a hot day. A 3mm shorty is good enough for both of those activities in the summer, though a 4/3 full-length wetsuit is (IMHO) better suited to surfing or non-summertime use here in cold-water, dry-air northern California. This is a really good-looking wetsuit, and it seems to be very well made with no flaws, nor any interior seams jabbing me. I’m a 5’6” (168cm) 150 lb (68kg) man. I have a 31” (79cm) waist, 42” (107cm) chest, 15.5” (39cm) neck, and a 32” (81cm) sleeve. I have a medium, athletic build. Even though I’m a “small” in shirts and jackets, I ordered a “Large” for this wetsuit based on the size-chart on the listing. Good choice. This wetsuit fits me perfectly—nicely snug. This wetsuit is rear-zip with a nicely long zipper-cord (unlike some of my other wetsuits), that lets me easily reach it with my short, inflexible arms. There is Velcro at the collar that enables securing the zipper and an adjustable fit at the neck. At $49.98 at the time of this review, I think this is a good value for a well-made 3mm shorty wetsuit, but you can definitely find a less expensive one at some level of quality. ... show more

    • Stylish and Affordable, but Runs Small and Zipper Issues

The 3mm Neoprene Shorty Wetsuit arrived quickly and looks great with its bright red color. However, it is thinner than my other 3mm wetsuit. While it fits, it runs a bit small and feels tight. The zipper is hard to zip up and down, which can was inconvenient, and made me a little worried that it would break and rip the suit. Despite these issues, the wetsuit is priced well and offers decent value for its cost. If you prefer a snug fit and can manage the zipper, this wetsuit could be a good choice ... show more

I ordered a XLS according to the original size chart. I'm 5' 11.5" and this is a bit tight in the shoulders. I don't think it's actually a women's, because there's no extra space in the hips and chest, but I am slightly too tall for it. The new size chart has it at 5'8" to 5'10" which does sound correct. I have always wanted a "spring suit" for when I am out at the beach or going snorkeling. So when this was found I knew I had to get it. Not knowing what to expect since I never owned or tried one on, I was pleased with the results. Good: 1. nice material with enough stretch to fit without being too binding 2. fit nicely on arms and legs. I do not feel like my circulation is effected while wearing it 3. robust, thick zipper that gives you feeling of knowing it will stay closed, even while moving all around 4. long zipper leash, to make getting off and on a lot easier 5. after care is straight forward and it keeps it shape well 6. have not noticed much moisture (other than sweat) getting into the suit. So I feel really dry after getting out of the water. 7. material and craftsmanship look to be on par with others one I have seen and felt. I think this will last a long time with proper care. 8. feels slightly buoyant, so I feel I can swim easier and stay afloat in the water. Bad: no bad things to say about this item. I highly recommend this for someone that likes to snorkle, surf, or just feel a little safer in the water. ... show more

Overall, the wetsuit is well made with appropriate thickness. I am confident that it will help with some heat retention for swimming in cold water. Since it is short-sleeves, I don't recommend using it for ocean swims during the winter months. It is more suitable for summer months swimming. The fit was quite snugged for me, but comfortable - I'm 5'3", 118 lbs, normally size 0-2 for US pants. The front zipper is plastic and large, seems sturdy for forcible zip-ups. Only time and consistent use will tell how long it can actually lasts. The product does not come with washing instruction in the packaging, so please see the product description on the website carefully to learn how to best care for it. ... show more

Other the wetsuit fits well based on the sizing chart. The only area it seems a little large is around the neck. The zipper is good quality for a wetsuit so should last awhile. The quality on the seems is great. I do wish they would stop printing the odd manufacture names boldly on items.
