  • Long Life and Well Worth the Upgrade Over AA Batteries
This review is for 3M ALPHA 1100 Rechargeable Lithium-Ion Battery Pack for 3M WorkTunes 90542 and Peltor Sport Tactical 300 and 500. I have this battery in a set of Peltor Sport Tactical 500 earmuffs. The battery lasts a long time. I couldn't tell you how many hours I am getting out of it, but I can say it is very rare that I have to charge it. Installing it was a little strange, because it went upside down of the way that it looked like it was going to fit. So, if you are running into an install issue, try rotating the battery 180 degrees. Also, I don't know if it is the battery or the headset, but no matter how long I leave it plugged in for to charge, it never shows that it is fully charged on the earmuffs. The light always indicates it is still charging, even after 24 hours of charging. Also, this battery comes with a micro-USB charging cable, all be it a pretty short one. Having this rechargeable battery in the headphones is well worth it over having to mess around with AA batteries. ... show more

  • Great Battery Life
I purchased this to use in conjunction with the Peltor Sport Tactical 500's and on a single charge got somewhere between 20-25 hours of battery life with at least 60% of that time playing music over bluetooth. The ambient noise amplification was also set to max volume so if used without in ear plugs the volume could be lower and I imagine they could last even longer. Great value and I think it is a must have. ... show more

The 1st one took the initial charge but would not take a charge the 2nd time. Amazon sent a replacement and it works fine.

  • Works great, no display, works by touch took a little bit of learning
Works great, No display, works by touch and voice feed back, took a little bit of learning, but this then does not give away that it is a radio although the antenna needs hiding. I purchased the batterie pack so it can use rechargeable batterie or regular AA or the rechargeable pack. Note: the don't make a separate charger so they have to recharge pack in headphones. Don't know if this will recharge AA' s , didn't try it. I'm happy with this product. ... show more

  • In protection on arrival
Battery was so discharged the bms refused to charge it, the on board safety circuit would not put out any voltage to check it till the battery started charging. This is a typical behavior, the problem is the headset couldn't see the battery so it would not charge because it's charger saw no voltage and thus no battery. I put it on my bench power supply and charged it enough to get it out of protection. Oddly it wasn't dangerously low so I am not certain what caused it to go into protection. Either way it worked afterwards, but you shouldn't need specialized equipment to get these to start charging. The real worry in have here is the headset will allow the battery to drain till its protection kicks in and it won't charge afterwards, in can fix it again but not the average consumer so I advise keeping it topped up if you use it regularly or if storing it for a while run it down to 3.8v or roughly half way to prevent it from going into protection. Don't store the battery in a discharged state Another interesting note is the charger in the headset only charged this battery at 300mA which is painfully slow, the battery should be able to take more as a general rule, but I didn't design it, and I guess slower charging is easier on the cells but the rule is no more than their capacity so for 1000mAh capacity you can safely charge at 1000mA or one amp, so a third of an amp is really slow. If you get one of these and it won't charge you can connect it to a constant current power supply set to 4.2v with max current set to 500mA and it will charge. Let it charge for ten minutes or so then put it in the headset to charge normally. But if you don't have this sort of power supply you should return it. I say this for those who might have the right gear but those that do likely have the knowledge already. ... show more

  • Quality Product
Works well while mowing or using the tractor on the farm. Have to cut off the machine when you receive a call. Not unexpected.

  • Better than dumping in AAA batteries all of the time.
Purchased for the 3M headphones, happy to have the recharging batteries versus AAA. They seem to last pretty long, more than all day of wearing.
