One of our dogs is a digger and we were constantly chasing her through the neighborhood as she could dig out under our fence in minutes! Our cyclone fence line was reinforced with cinder blocks and heavy planks to defeat this dog's constant escapes! It looked awful! But we didnt know what else to do except get rid of the dog! THE GOOD NEWS: The spikes on these CAN extend deep enough to stop your pup, but buy according to your pet's size and determination. Also, take the time to install and attach properly! This first set slowed her down but she actually bent the spikes with her teeth and still eventually got loose. I also didn't have a hammer to pound them into the ground all the way, and should have used better zip ties, as the yard guy weedwhacked the heck out of my first installation attempt. My husband ordered a heavier duty set to install where the ground was wettest and always soft, and he used the lighter weight set on the dryer areas of the fence where she depended on being able to push against the fence to create an escape route, more than digging deep. The prongs strengthened and stabilized the fence so she couldn't dig deep OR push out the cyclone fencing! My husband also was able to hammer them into the hard ground all the way, so be sure to have a mallet/hammer! Both areas are now pup resistant and we are very pleased!! ... show more

    • A persistent groundhog will and did dig under and pushed the wires apart to enter the garden

It’s a little less sturdy than expected, but with care can easily be installed without bending. It’s perfect for tgat gap from uneven ground and a fence that leaves gaps at the bottom. It’s a very satisfactory fix for keeping vermin from slipping easily under the fence.

    • Use a hammer to pins down into the ground

Instructions are to use a hammer to pound down into the ground. While the theory is good- the minute I started tapping the grid into the ground- it all started bending all over. Not a single place with any strength to pound on. So it all bent and are junk now.

Might work good in medium to soft soil. Prongs bend easily. Also watch using near your 4x4 posts as the will definitely bend if you have concrete poured posts.
