For months, we have been attempting to identify the creature that was entering our backyard by digging out along our old fence that was beginning to rot where the boards contacted the ground. Our two dogs would clearly follow scent trails every time we would let them out into the yard. I have been purchasing similar fence sections in the past and I’m emplacing them every time a new entry point would pop up. Yesterday, our dogs when let out in the middle of the night cornered a fox in our screened porch, it having entered through the doggy door. Now, we know the culprit. I am using this package of 14 barrier fence sections along entire sections of the fence between posts rather than singularity at individual small openings. They go in easily and deep into the ground to deter nocturnal visits. Tying the fence sections together with the supplied cable ties offer an additional measure of security that the fox will not push a single section aside. These fence panels are very well-made of heavy gauge wire with strong welds and a flat black finish. They plunge easily into the soil thanks to the sharply pointed tips of their prongs. I’m not using them for their intended purpose of creating a barrier against small animals. Instead, I’ve installed them along a row of bush beans to keep the plants from flopping over when they grow larger and become laden with beans. [See photo] A pair of knit fabric gloves, a generous package of zip ties and a small wire cutter type pliers are included in the package. Except for using the wire cutter to snip the zip tie that held the stack of fence panels together for shipping, I didn’t have use for any of these extras. The zip ties undoubtedly would be useful for attaching the panels to each or to a main fence with larger openings that you would be using these panels to reinforce against small animal invasions. The flowering clematis on the front of my house recently looked like it started half dying. When I inspected it I saw rabbits had chewed through some of the vines on the bottom which caused it to start dying further up. This 14 pack fencing was easy to set up. The only problem I had was that the cutter wasn’t sharp enough to trim the zip ties but I had something else to use. The fence works well and I haven’t had any further rabbit damage. ... show more

I've only recently discovered these little anti-dig fences and have to say they are very handy. I'm using these to fortify the border of a small outdoor chicken run. I'm able to push these through openings in the chicken wire which pin the wire to the ground but also will help keep predators from digging under the perimeter. These came with zip ties, gloves, and a pair of wire cutters (for trimming the zip ties)...which will go right into my tool box after I'm done with the zip ties. These pound in easily and are similar to another set that I have. Just realize that the wire is somewhat soft and isn't going to go through rocks and roots. I use a dead blow hammer to install these. The metal is sturdy enough to stick into pretty dry dirt, I was very surprised it didn't buckle. Height it very good and works for what we needed. Our puppy is small and we want her to wander around the yard but our old fence has gaps and holes from the age of it. This cover those questionable areas to keep her safe and in out yard. If you have a dog who is an escape artist, like I do, this is extremely helpful to secure some of those low spots in the fenced in yard. Just pound them into the ground, and they become very secure. I go the extra step of zip tying them to the existing fence. You probably would not need to do that unless you have a runaway. My dog is unable to sneak through those spots, and these fill a nice sized area. ... show more

The common use is to push it in the ground to prevent digging. However we discovered it works great to attach to a gate with the spikes down to prevent digging under. It also is great for those very little dogs, like my own, who can squeeze under gates to get out. I used cable tie to attache to our gate making sure I carefully adjusted the high to ensure the gate would still open but low enough to keep anyone from squeezing under. My only issue with this brand is its not quite as strong as other brands I have used from Vine. The spikes/legs do bend easier. Its a lighter weight than others so I would not suggest use for large dogs. Should work well though for small dogs or preventing small animals like rabbits from digging in. ... show more

In addition to the 14 metal panels, these come with a pair of gloves, cutting pliers and two packs of zip-ties. Hope they will keep the rabbits away from my new plantings.
