I have purchased this cue twice. On a break the first cue broke off clean about 3 inches back from the tip. This cue lasted about 6 years. The second cue which is about 5 months old, has a rattle in the main joint, the joint between the shaft and the butt. The joint on the bottom for jump shots seems ok. The defective joint does not allow for a solid hit on the break. All the power is lost in the loose joint. I have contacted the seller but have not received a response. When this cue worked properly, it was great. 25oz delivers a fantastic hit, till it doesn’t. I have two Viking cues that are each 45 years old and are still in great shape. I guess you get what you pay for. Revised 5/2/2023 I talked with Steve at Progear and at his direction I checked the weight bolt at the bottom of the cue. It was just loose enough to cause a vibration when striking the butt against the floor. I tightened the bolt and eliminated the vibration. Tonight I will test it in league play and see if that makes a difference. Progear responded to me in a timely manner and worked with me to resolve the issue. My husband and I are fairly competitive pool players, we play in a pool league every week, as well as a separate tournament every Friday night at our local bar. We LOVE this breaking cue, it's got a great weight to it, and sends the balls flying. Often makes for a great match! Highly recommend it, and at this price, you can't go wrong.     • Rage against the dying of the light!

I purchased the Rage a month ago. I have used it often as I play in two leagues and practice an additional 4-6 hours per week on average for a total of approximately 40-45 hours of pool time in the 31 days since I have had it. I have not used any other cue for breaking since I got it. One of my team members has used it on nearly all of his breaks as well. (gonna have to cut him off from that soon, ha!) I do NOT know how to make a legal jump shot so I have only begun to practice that with less than stellar results so far. I have a buddy giving me pointers on how to jump and he insists that the cue is not the one at fault. He can make the sucker jump all over with the Rage. (gonna cut him off pretty quick as well, of all the nerve) I love the way this cue breaks! I have wrapped a couple of my older cues (a very nice but rather dated Schmelke and a used Viking stick I traded a graphite cue for) with athletic tape to provide grip and a little extra weight. I was surprised how heavy the Rage felt. It is weighted more to the back but not so much as to make altering your grip or stance an issue. Using just a smooth easy stroke, I get a lot of action on the rack and because I am not sacrificing accuracy for power, I am leaving the cue near the center of the table which is what I am trying to do. If you choose to get this cue, keep in mind that the 25oz weight may not be legal to use in tournament or league play depending on your local Billards governing body. I have only one negative to bring up and that is a few days ago I could feel a vibration starting very near the butt end. In fact, this vibration increased in short order to a slight rattle when I shook the thing. I removed the rubber bumper and used a 6mm hex key to tighten the nut. I believe the English size closest to the 6 is the 7/32 but I am not 100% on that. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend this cue to others regardless of your level of play. One other thing, I recall the packing material was pretty scarce. If I were sending a cue any distance via two-day shipping, I would put a lot more padding in the box. Just sayin'.
