I did not read the description closely enough before buying. Since the weave opens when compressed along its length, like a pair of finger hand cuffs, it can only be installed over loose wire ends. Chose not to disassemble my wiring expecting that to install this over any length would be a chore. Also does not lend itself to having wires enter or exit the loom along its length. Also did not appreciate that it depends on shrink tubing to keep the ends from unraveling, and only two pieces of shrink tubing are included. ... show more

    • Works - think carefully about the width
Seems like a good solution to the issue of my cat chewing the cables from my computer, phone, and printer. The only tricky bit is to estimate what size you need, the thing to bear in mind is not the size of the wire but the size of any plug or suchlike that the sleeve has to pass over, the 1/4 inch just didn’t have the necessary width for a lot of those but, of course, looks better than the wider sleeve for the things that it did fit. If in doubt, size up a bit. I got 1 1/4 inch for the first one, somewhere in the middle should fit most. ... show more

    • Really good for cord management, but there is a catch...

This product looks like the perfect solution for cord management especially when you are trying to keep them neat over 10-15 feet. It also looks better than the split plastic cord covers. but... When you cut it, you have to flame the ends to melt the fibers together. This is to keep it from unraveling. But when you do this, the end portion does not stretch and expand. You can not longer get the plug through that portion. I am trying to cut it, put all the cable through. Then protect the cable with foil before flaming the fraying ends together. ... show more

When I saw what I ordered, (3/8"), I was worried I had made a mistake. I thought it was too small. But I just pushed it together at the end and it swelled to twice its size allowing me to snake the wire and the already secured lead, through it. Cut it with a pair of scissors. I recommend you don't cut to length until you have it on, once you pull to tighten it up you will get back plenty of surplus for the next project. Very Happy with the look, color, and hopefully durability. I'm using it to cover up the heavy gauge wires on my winch. ... show more

I have a guitar amp with a stereo loop. Which requires 3 instrument cables. 1-send and 2-returns. To clean up the stage clutter from pedalboard to amp I decided to make a 15’ snake using the 1/2” PET braided sleeve to cover 3 guitar cables. Super easy to work with and turned out just fine.

If you were buying this to wrap your cords in your home to protect from Pat chewing or to protect your pets from being electrocuted from chewing this is not what you need a. This is not split nor does it stretch far enough for you to fit a cord through it, even if you wrap your cord so the smooth and is sliding through this thing is like a Chinese finger trap and I purchased the half-inch cord thinking that I would be able to fit multiples through it also thinking that it was split. This stuff is a nightmare and phrase and shreds your fingers get stuck in it your cord gets stuck in it it’s a total nightmare don’t waste your money. The only thing I can imagine is being good for or people who are running their own cord lines and capping them and finishing them off, so unless you’re in the business of chopping your electronic cords to pieces and putting them back together don’t bother. ... show more

    • Not so easy to apply
Used this for protecting electrical cords from cats. I thought it would be easier to put on the cords, but b of the head of the cord is too big, it won't fit. When you cut to size, the sheath will come undone and you'll need to use something to keep it from falling apart. I used hot glue and extreme tape. This keeps the cats from biting cords, but putting it on, makes it too much of a hassle to make it worth it. ... show more
