  • Close, but no cigar
Color: Black
I'm really confused about the quality of these pegs. Before I get started on this long review, please note that they malfunctioned yesterday (5/20/23) during the first test ride. I just reached out to the seller today (5/21/23). Okay back to the long review. Initially, I was very pleased - from the box opening and all through the install. I used the AltRider YouTube video to guide me through the install. All during the install process (yesterday, 5/20/23), I was convinced these pegs had to be high quality generic versions of AltRider brand pegs. At that time the penny pincher in me was very proud for taking a risk. Before test riding, I had everything adjusted as wanted. Also I could easily open and close the pegs with minimal hand or boot pressure. Then came the test ride (yesterday, 5/20/23). I headed out of town, and rode for about 15 miles before trying to deploy the pegs. First thing I noticed, was that it was difficult to deploy the pegs from the closed to open position. while at highway speeds. Strange, since it was so easy to do this prior to riding. Yet I was able to do it though, so I initially brushed off those concerns to a learning curve issue. At about the 50 mile mark I tried to close the pegs. This was at highway speeds, and it just wasn't happening. Again I brushed it off as learning curve, and just kept them down until I got home. Once I got home and with the cycle on it's side stand, I still couldn't close the pegs by hand - even kicking them with the toe of my boot. Review modification: [After further investigation (5/21/23), I believe the root of the problem may be the spring-loaded steel bearings are tearing into the aluminum housing. I'd like to swap-out the steel bearings for aluminum bearings and see if it fixes things. Heard back from seller (5/22/23); it's my understanding they are sending replacement parts.] I still don't know the real cause. I wonder if greasing the locking bearings would have done anything to prevent the pegs from seizing, although the bearings were never exposed to water. Another thought: Surely the vibration affected things, since the pegs functioned perfectly before being exposed to the first 15 miles of vibration, and by 100 miles - they were seized open. If these pegs malfunction due to vibration (which may be likely), then they are almost worthless. This is frustrating, since the parts appear to be quality materials. I received the order on 2/21/23, yet didn't have time to do the install until yesterday (5/20/23), so I am past the return date. As of now, I don't know what the seller's response will be. I'm willing to give it another try if they replace parts. I do wonder if this is all an exercise in futility; wondering if there is no hope for these pegs without some type of fix for whatever it is that ails it. I wonder if the real AltRider pegs work long? At this point, I couldn't recommend these pegs - since 10 - 15 minutes of functional use, is just too short of time. Yet it is a mystery to me, as to why they aren't working. What causes them to seize up??? ... show more

  • Shipping times are way off. At the basic level these are OK.
Color: Black
I'd say these are great little fold away highway pegs on a budget. Nothing fancy. Based on a very well thought out design for "universal fit". Came with spare bolts, but oddly enough they don't actually match any of the other hardware. Shipping times are wayyyy off from what Amazon says but the seller did refund a portion to align with Amazon policy. If you can wait weeks for delivery to the U.S.A then go for it. Only wish it had nylon washers on parts to fill in the slop on metal to metal contact of moving pieces. ... show more

These are exactly what I wanted a sleek foot peg that I can mount high on my motorcycle to rest my feet or legs that flip up mounting will straightforward no issues however be advised first rainstorm the little brass balls rusted and these will no longer flip up if I tried hitting him with a hammer and they rotated instead of flipped up so Grease the heck out of them so that little ball bearing just not rust and it can flip up ... show more

  • Design Flaw
Color: Silver
quality is very nice. Brushed chrome finish, solid, and heavy weight, but.... the fulcrum is not left and right side specific. Instead of each foot peg being side specific the manufacturer just cut corners and made them the same, so one side the allen wrench bolt faces up and the cut away of the part faces the right way, but the other side the bolt faces down (vibration and the bolt may drop out and you will not have any way to reattach a new bolt). If you don't mind that the item will probably work for you. I'm probably a little OCD, so the cheapness of design bothers me. ... show more

  • The product fits metric sized engine guards
Color: Black
I installed R-Gaza engine guards on my 2018 Yamaha FRJ-1300 back in 2020 when I acquired the bike. Honestly, it was the only product available at the time due to COVID. The R-Gaza bars look good and serve to the purpose but I soon discovered it was extremely difficult to find highway pegs that fit the engine guard because the bars are 27mm is diameter, (think 1.06 inches). All the products I had found up to now were for bars produced in inch sizes and just did not tighten up or fit well on these 27mm bars. The champs with these pegs are advertised to fit various metric sizes using shims installed in the clamp to accommodate the different sizes. I was able to tighten these clamps down using the appropriate shims to prevent any movement and they look great. ... show more

  • Foot peg jams open
Color: Silver
I’m pretty disappointed in these, but also keep in mind that they’re half the price of quality pegs. After 1 use they locked open. And this was just resting my boot on it, not adding extra weight or standing on it. And it locked open. I actually had to get off the bike and kick the peg hard to get it to fold. I don’t know why as there was no issue after I installed. But after a few miles of use it happened again. So with any kind of force against the peg it jams open for some reason. And then can only be closed with extreme force. I do not recommend these and suggest you keep shopping. Honestly the $150 Alt Rider pegs are probably worth the money. ... show more

  • Great T7 highway pegs for incredible price
Color: Black
Great quality, well designed. Sweet result on Tenere 700. The spacers are aluminum which create a solid, non slip matrix! The only down side is zero instructions provided. Definitely want to use thread lock!
