I just recently purchased a vintage Singer 99K hand crank sewing machine and a Singer 201-2 and they both require these type of bobbins. The quality is great, they fit perfectly and they fit the bobbin winder on the machine as well, no issues. They are machined really well, no burs, no nicks, and no rust on them. My also came with the bobbin box with the pink foam insert and they fit perfectly. The plastic box was also perfect, no breaks and it's a good quality thick non brittle plastic. I am a new quilter working with "Dino," my Singer Sewing Machine model #404 that my mother-in-law passed on to me. I have tried several different bobbins - both plastic and metal ones - before ordering this package of metal ones to try. The bobbins are good. The box is not. The bobbins fall out of the foam with the lid closed. It's not secure enough to be tilted. It must be stored flat or risk the bobbins going out of place.

I bought some bobbins locally at a Johann's sewing supplies for my Singer 201 for about $8 for 4 bobbins and they did not fit! The tiny hole that the pin of the bobbin winder fits into was not placed properly. I looked carefully at those in the Amazon.com photos and the Honeysew were the only ones that looked to me like they were placed perfectly. Although others may be as well, the Honeysew fit for sure. I urge everyone to examine the photos of all brands before deciding. The only bad thing was the Honeysew bobbins came in a little bag, not the nice display box shown. ... show more

Very well made. Smooth all over & perfect for my old singer 401A Slant-o-matic sewing machine. I LOVE my machine & want to make sure I am using the correct size, good quality parts for it. I know using metal bobbins can cause more wear & tear on the bobbin case BUT I don't sew every day & the plastic ones are more fragile & prone to getting scratches that catch thread & leave fuzz or mess up the lower tension.
