arrived in excellent condition and well packaged. Using these as add-ons for my laser engravers to help set the home position on the work surface. At 5VDC they are easy to drive with either a wall-wart or from extra power on your laser engraver.     • Need better specs
The laser diodes work great, however no electrical specs. After purchasing 100pcs of current limiting resistors found out the laser diodes came with a 91 ohm resistor built in. My choice of limiting resistor is higher so I have to compensate to get less power, lower intensity output. Specs did not mention that the diffuser lens is removable. I found out as I was installing them and noticed some of the lens caps were loose. Removed the lens cap and found a spring inside. So check the lens cap make sure they are tight. ... show more

Alignment aside which is my issue in this case, you can see the lasers flare badly in the lens on a number of the modules.

    • Laser not aligned with housing
The laser beam is not aligned with the housing. In other words, if you put the cylindrical housing in a hole, the laser beam does not point along the axis of the hole, but is instead skew to the axis of the hole. The laser spot moves in a circle as you rotate the laser housing. This is not good if you need your laser beam aligned with or perpendicular to some reference. However, they are very inexpensive and the four that I have tried have all turned on. ... show more

    • The lens caps are thread locked. Focus not adjustable!
The focus on these is supposed to be adjustable, but all of the ones I received are locked with thread locker. Broke one trying to adjust it. Now I have 19 diodes that are completely useless to me because some genius decided to lock the focus. THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN MENTIONED IN THE ITEM DESCRIPTION!
