I specifically got these for an old piano bench we have that sits on a tile floor. There are small metal brads on the bottom of the stool legs. It sounds terrible when sliding the bench on the tile, and the brads tend to catch on the grout lines as you move it around. These sliders make it much nicer when moving the bench around. The stool now moves quietly and smoothly, and the wider surface area on the bottom helps the feet glide across grout lines instead of falling into them. They are easy to install; you basically slide them on like tiny furniture socks. They are visible, but subtle so they don't look like a tacky add on. The silicone is stretchy, but the range of diameters you can fit it on is pretty narrow when it comes to chair/stool feet. (.8" to 1.2") These were perfect for my piano bench, but I don't know of anything else I own that I can put them on. It was a pack of 16, and now I'm not sure what I'll do with the other 12. If I wanted to get some sliders for other furniture with larger feet, I'll probably have the same issue with leftover pieces because it seems like the foot size on my furniture varies a lot. These particular sets would be perfect if you have a 4 chair set though. ... show more

These chair leg covers are nice. They are silicone so they stretch - to a point. These for on the front legs of my chairs, the back legs are too large. I need to look into a larger size. It’s nice to be able to move my dining chairs without scraping my floors.

    • Very good floor protectors for chairs

I have been using softer felt stick on pads on the bottoms of the kitchen chairs that I bought at a big box store. They work well but don't tend to stay on for long working their way off the bottom of the chair. These will solve that problem. I obtained the large size since the chair legs are just over 1 " in diameter. The plastic sleeve was a bit difficult to slip over the end of each leg but once on are a nice tight fit. There is enough flexibility in the plastic sleeve that I was able to pull them over the bulge in the bottom of the chair leg. Took a minute or so for each leg but not an issue they are designed to fit over several sizes and the plastic is flexible while still very durable. Once all four were installed the chair slides quite easily across the floor. The felt is not a soft felt but rather a hard felt but it doesn't scratch or damage the floor. The soft felt do tend to also pick up dirt which makes them less efficient. These look like they will be more resistant to getting clogged with dirt so should work longer. The hard felt piece is well attached to the plastic sleeve and won't come off during use. All in all a good product and highly recommended. ... show more

    • Excellent Solution For Problem Chair Legs

We have two barstools at our kitchen counter that get a lot of use. They are fairly new and came with little round brass caps on the bottom of the square legs. Our kitchen area has vinyl floors, so the caps had to go. Since then I’ve been through several different types of products to find a solution. We removed the caps so they wouldn’t interfere, and tried a few different types of stick-on pads. Every one of them lasted a week or so and then slid off or rolled up, so we tried another kind that slid over the leg and had a soft bottom, that one got all crooked and eventually broke apart. 2023 New Chair Leg silicone chair leg protectors to the rescue. These fit securely over the square legs and are hardly noticeable unless you look directly at them. The round felt like pads on the bottom have stayed put and not twisted or shown any signs of ripping apart in the two weeks they’ve been on the stools, a new record. From what I’ve seen so far these protectors are going to last a long time, if that changes I’ll come back and update this review. ... show more

This is an initial look review. At this point I have installed them on 4 chairs of two different designs, and they definitely are an improvement over the standard self-adhesive felt pads. They slide well, seem much more tough, and much less prone to collecting and showing debris. The chair leg slider/protectors were able to fit four different styles of rectangular chair legs that covered a range of chair leg perimeters including: 4.0 inches, 5.3 inches, all the way up to 5.96 inches (I'm not sure I could get them on a leg larger than that). The stated range for "large" is 3.7 to 4.7 inches, but I found that (especially when they have been warmed in the sun) these will tolerate a larger amount of stretch than the product description shows, but your hands will need to be strong enough able to stretch them out. Below the lower dimension the elastomer will not be stretched enough to cause them to stay on, so at that point you will need to move to the next size down. ... show more

I was searching everywhere at the store near me for something that would go on the bottom of the chairs in my mothers new kitchen set. She lives in an apartment that has a slight slant and her floors are clean and shiny. Here’s the issue, every time she sat down, the chairs would slide on the floor. Not safe at all. We put these on and now the chairs don’t slide. Thank goodness. The chairs had these little plastic things at the bottom to make them slide easier but I don’t think anyone realized how much they slid. Yikes!! He took off the plastic thing at the bottom of the chairs and put these and and now it’ much much safer. Honestly, I never knew these existed until they showed up in my queue. Thank you, thank you!!
