Greens and Yellows and Oranges become heat. Long wave IR that's worthless. You pay to make heat and you pay to remove heat. Don't fall for the pervasive marketing hype, because it's wrong. Broad spectrum PAR is a worn-out joke. Kelvin temperature anything is Green, Yellow, Orange so avoid it. Burn-in test your new lamp as soon as you get it. These lamps are not perfect. 70% of the consumed energy heats up the LED lamp. But cooling air is poorly ducted towards the LED mounting board, so it can run hot. The hottest 50% of the board goes totally uncooled. There are no heat sinks other than the board itself nor any passive cooling fins. The lamp needs thermal protection for safety's sake, since forced cooling might fail sooner or later - possibly leading to fire as a worst-case scenario. You was warned. It's not like you would intentionally run the lamp unattended, would you? I add a $2 bimetal thermostat thermal protection switch to each $100 lamp. A cooler lamp lasts longer too. And for a 10% light emission efficiency gain, a future modernization of Samsung LM301H diodes would be nice, but only in Reds and Blues. ... show more
