I got this hoping I could generate a barrier for my small dog to prevent him from going down the stairs in our raised front lawn. My dog likes to go down the stairs to chase rabbits, and my hope was these would discourage him from leaving the front area. When stuck into the ground, these only stick out by a foot or so, and that is not sufficient a height. My dog has no problem jumping over it. My guess is most dogs, no matter how small, will have no problem jumping over it. I gave these four stars under the assumption you will use these for decorative purposes. These aren't quite as big as they appear in the pictures here... Between 20% and 40% smaller. the 16.0" measurement is how tall they are WITH the legs that sink into the ground. Without the legs they're only 8 inches tall. So that was disappointing. Other than that they're good. I reviewed a couple of similar sets that had more pieces. This set is 10 pieces and for a decent price. Height of all the sets is the same so that makes them somewhat interchangeable. Quality and material thickness is the same. The kit provides zip ties and clips. Recommend
