I bought these for an inflatable kayak to be stowable when not use. So the portability is great. They're very easy to use. More comfortable than normal life jackets because they don't have back segment so you can fully lean against the seat back. They look great and are highly visible. Fortunately, we didn't need to test them in emergency situation in the water but we used the same type during snorkeling and they hold your body above water just as well as normal life jackets. I bought these swim vests for an upcoming vacation where we will be snorkeling. Whilst we all can swim and all while knowing it’s not a life jacket, it gives me piece of mind to know that my family has a back up aid should they need it. The vibrant color ensures high visibility in the water. The material of the jacket is not just your average pool float inflatable. It is a polyester and pvc fabric that appears strong. The waist and crotch strap secure the vest so it won’t ride up under your chin and the design allows for a full range of motion. These vests are very slim and can be inflated to each individuals preference by the tube on the chest which has a 2 way valve. Portability is another standout feature of these safety vests. I wasn’t going to get these for our recent cruise cuz I didn’t think I’d need it. After watching some blogs of people snorkeling I saw they had them and we were going to bring our own gear. I’m so glad I got these. I haven’t snorkeled in maybe years and not in that great of shape. Not to mention my son is 11 and a decent swimmer but not in the ocean and in salt water. Got these for our trip to the Caribbean. Worked great. Made snorkeling so easy. It does have a strap that goes between your legs to help keep it from riding up, my husband didn’t like feature, but they worked very well. Would buy again.
