I have a few projects that need to be done and these will make them so much easier to do alone. The first one is to side a shed and for that, these will work perfectly. They will not help much with the bottom board but once that one is properly set, these clamps will set every other board at exactly the reveal that I set them for so as long as the first board is set level and square to the wall, the rest will follow and this will make the job much easier and faster. The second project is where I was surprised in a good way. I have some siding that was water damaged and needs to be replaced. It's not the entire wall, but the first floor of it. The issue that I was worried about was if these clamps would set to the proper reveal to match the existing siding since these clamps have predefined settings at 1/4 inch intervals. To my surprise, and as seen in the picture, they can and did so when I remove and replace this siding in the spring, these clamps will work perfectly. One thing to keep in mind is that in order for these clamps to have that 1/4 inch capability, there are multiple holes in both the clamps body and siding support and for the clamps to be properly set, the bolt that holds them together HAVE TO BE in the same set of holes on both clamps. If they are not, the clamps will not be set to the same reveal and each board will be further off than the one before it. 1/4 or even 1/2 of an inch is not all that noticeable on a long board but that difference multiplies for every level and after 10 boards, you could be 2 1/2 or more inches off side to side and that is very noticeable on the last board where it meets the trim. ... show more
