Just remember it needs to be bolted onto something 4" wide, like a 4x4 post or frame. Other than that, it works just fine. It came with a cotter pin, but I never figured where it went. Also the rod seems to be pretty soft, so for some reason the bottom has bent just a little. Probably from dragging the ground when I was opening or closing the gate. But that was and is a minor problem, and otherwise it works perfectly, was easy to install, and I would happily buy another one if needed. (Actually I bought two of them, the second one I haven't mounted yet, because the wood is really rotten and I need to replace it first. But once that is done, it will be another easy install). ... show more

Buy something you can trust more. 1) Hardware was atrocious… aluminum cans are stronger than these screws. Screw stripped even though the holes were pre-drilled. Tried to tighten w the hex and the effing head snapped off. So I had to move the placement entirely and use some Simpson screws instead. 2) “powder coating” was more like glossy spray paint that started chipping off during install. If the quality of the rest is on par, it should be rusting in no time! $46, but then $10 for buy proper screws. Would’ve bought something else in hindsight. ... show more
