Beautiful wood but size is misleading. There is a false bottom to the cup so, I would estimate that it holds only 8 oz of liquid and not 12 oz. I wanted it specifically for soup when I travel.

All images included show a single piece of worked wood... except the very final image, where the handle is a separate piece and joined and glued in. THAT final image is true to what you are getting. I was expecting a solid piece of worked wood like the first few images... THAT IS NOT THE CASE. The handle seems to be fastened ok. Time will tell if putting warm beverages in it will melt the glue or loosen the fit. Hopefully not, it's meant to be a little stocking stuffer gift. ... show more

Good mug, holds hot beverages, the 1st time it smelled alittle off (not bad, just varnishy) but after rewashing (vigorously this time) the smell was gone. about the design... it's a wooden mug, dark lacquered and well that's it. Nothing special but it's thick enough material that you can carve or sand it down without ruining it. I sanded down the handle to make it more comfortable for my sausage fingers. just remember to reseal it if you do anything. If you want something that is picturesque out of the box, there are others on amazon that might be a better fit. But if you want to have some arts and crafts time or want a mug that will age along with you, this is a good mug. ... show more
