I bought these stackers and absolutely was frustrated with them, didn't like them, and was wanting to return them. But, I decided to look at the amazon listing again to make sure I wasn't being stupid (which I was.......). I was using them upside down, trying to clip the skinny end on the top of the tray, and using the wide end to support the tray above, which was 100% wrong. By not paying attention to the pics on the listing and using them incorrectly, it allowed the trays to touch the food below, they were unstable, and would pop off, leading me to be more frustrated (they fly pretty well when you chuck them across the room while cursing them). After checking the listing and seeing the pic that showed proper orientation, I flipped them around and they work wonderfully! This is a well made product that does exactly what it says it does, and let's you stack the trays while not letting food touch the tray above it. I would recommend this product to anyone with a Harvest Right freezer. ... show more

Purchased these to use for my XL Harvest Right. The trays are very large and take up a great deal of room if all are laid out. With these stackers, all the trays (except 1, only enough for 6), can be put in one spot. I am very happy with these.

    • Nice to Have But Doesn't Work with Tray Dividers

I've wanted the tray stackers and tray dividers for a long time but put off buying because they aren't, strictly speaking, necessary. That said, they absolutely make processing batches more convenient. However, I bought the stackers and dividers together with the intention of processing a bunch of soup, but you can only fit three dividers on a medium size tray if you use the stackers (without stackers, you can fit four dividers). If you try to fit four dividers, the stackers pop off the corners. It's a bummer that they can't be used together on the medium sized trays. The stackers will still come in handy when processing other foods without using the dividers, effectively allowing me to double my freezer space when pre-freezing ahead of freeze drying, so I would still recommend them. ... show more

    • Don't freeze solid!!

I bought these to stack trays in my deep freezer before I load my freeze drier. I scramble eggs to fill the trays. IF you do the same, and freeze liquid, don't let your item freeze solid or you won't be able to remove the stackers to slide your trays in the freeze drier. These do not clip tight to the trays, they rest and can move easily when stacking the trays so be careful and slowly stack trays and make sure your top tray is setting on the stacker, as you stack the trays. As a side note and not having anything to do with the stackers, I noted the top tray freezes first, while the bottom 3 will be liquidy/slushy. These have a large side and a small side. The large side fits to the bottom tray, while the small side accepts the next higher tray to sit on. They serve a purpose, and work, just be slow and deliberate when stacking liquids. I place the trays in the freezer empty, place the stackers, fill the tray inside the freezer, stack, fill, etc. ... show more

User error could be a factor, but I have a difficult time with these. They fall off... a lot. They don't seem very secure when first put in place. The plastic itself seems very strong, it's not flimsy, and they seem well made, but they are unstable when attached to my trays before freezing. After freezing, they are frozen into the food a little so they stay better for removing trays from the freezer. As you can see in the pictures, they don't allow much space between the trays. That's great if you're short on freezer space, but even when I fill the trays with less than the weight of food recommended for the tray size, the food expands in the freezer and sticks to the bottom of the tray above. You can see in the bottom tray I put parchment paper on top of the spaghetti sauce and the chunks of tomatoes are pushing up against the next tray. Without the parchment paper, that would be stuck to the bottom of the tray above. On that tray I loaded 2 cups less than the tray's capacity. It's also important to note that I have a Large freeze dryer so my trays are bigger and flex a little more. These probably work just fine for the medium or small size trays. I definitely wouldn't try them on the X-Large. ... show more
