I have bought other versions of these tools from different manufacturers. They were all cheap and rusted quickly, despite the listings saying they were stainless steel tools. Some even split in half, such as the tweezers breaking into two pieces. These specifics tools are amazing and are very high quality! The metal has a very different feel to it, almost as if the stainless steel compound used is nearly kitchen grade quality. I was rather skeptical these tools would deliver given their price and my previous history - I was very much wrong, they were definitely worth the cost! I can see these lasting a long time without any rust whatsoever. If you have been frustrated with inferior aquascaping products not lasting, and rusting easily, look no further.     • Really nice quality at a decent price
Paid a little more for this set than the cheapest 5 piece one I could find at Amazon because I saw that it had the ridges on the tweezers to make it easier to grip. Sounds like the cheaper sets are fine, but I am really, really happy with this set. They are a full 12 inches, which is a great length, and they are very solid feeling quality product that comes in a nice case. Great set for your home aquascaper! Stainless means no rust and they are all very solidly made. Feel great in the hands. The included carrying case really has a premium feel to it and looks nice sitting on my desk at work! I was not expecting that kind of quality in the case so that was a nice bonus. The trimmers are very sharp right out of the box and the other tools are well made and sturdy. Would recommend to anyone keeping live plants in an aquarium. These are awesome. They really are. I can honestly see how a bigger tank might give you problems, but honestly if they were longer you might lose the quality. Anyway, yes, keep them dry after each use. The scissors are great and the tongs helped my plant my grass (which is a pain) and the other plants along with it. Would def recommend to a friend if I'm ever asked. I spent a little more to get the carrying case. I think it was worth it. After reading other reviews regarding aquarium aquascaping tools, I was concerned with the curved scissors in this sets ability to cut thin plants. I am pleased to say that the scissors are working great. I sit and watch my tank with the long tweezers in one hand and the curved scissors in the other pruning and working away. An hour goes by in no time. I believe the tools are of quality material and constructed well. The tool lengths works well in my 16 inch deep aquarium. My Reason for 4 stars and not 5 is that the tools require a bit of hand strength to operate, especially the tweezers. I would not hesitate to recommend these tools to friends. ... show more

I have owned different brands of aquascaping tools, including those made by ADA. This set is the only one that is at the level of quality as that of ADA's tools, which is fantastic. The price is very reasonable in the context of the quality, including the good leather case presentation. That makes this set a great gift to those who own aquariums. Rusted pretty quickly, not stainless steel. They are a good set though. Sturdy, long, nice case. As described other then the material. If you clean it often and don't let them air dry they are still good tools.
