I buy quite a bit of this split loom in various sizes as my son and I do a lot of aftermarket lighting wiring on our vehicles.. This is our default that we use on any wiring job to protect from wires rubbing and ensure longevity to the work we do. good quality product.

I have finished installing the cable protectors in my boat trailer electrical cable (trailer to truck hitch). The last time I did this, I used material from the local hardware store and it became brittle in 2 yrs of Arizona heat. This new material is thicker and harder. Having three sizes on hand, allowed me to choose the 3/8” instead of the 1/2”. The final result is a more compact and professional looking cable. The material takes a bit more effort to tame it, which is a good thing because it means it is heavy duty. My trailer is kept outside but with the hitch area wrapped in a Sunbrella fabric to keep UV and dust out, but the Summer heat can get to 120F. I expect this project to last much longer than its predecessor. Time/Labor versus Cost of Materials: always get the best material! ... show more

I cant say that these covers are chew-proof but I can say something about the texture or material of them deters my cat and he no longer has a desire to even try to chew on them. They're also thin and flexible enough that I could wrap them around cords like my Playstation controller charger without losing ease of movement or storage ability. I bought some bigger, thicker covers exactly like this one but they were too bulky to neatly fold up or maneuver out of the way. They are VERY hard to put on. I would suggest getting a ballpoint pen or something to force the cover open with one hand and then use the other hand to push the cables in. Otherwise your fingers are probably going to be super blistered. But because they're so difficult to put on, it means they're also difficult for pets to access so it's a good thing overall. ... show more
