I read somebody’s review about them being horribly scratchy. I remember thinking, “what are you, the Princess and the Pea?” Well, I got my sheet set. Washed them. Put them on the bed. They are an odd cotton or weave. They are clearly a solid fabric. I don’t doubt the thread count but the weave or whatever leaves them less than smooth. Scratchy? Meh…not sure I’d say that but I’ve been used to microfiber and these don’t feel like top quality. I’ve washed them so I have to keep but I will for sure go back to microfiber or buy very expensive sheets next time. Not sure I’d buy these again. Maybe, guess time will tell. **update** With wear and a few washings, these are getting softer. I pondered if it was just me adjusting but no, they seem to need some wear to soften up a bit. The wife and I really love now. Have made a believer out of us. We will be repeat buyers. Incr to 5 stars! ... show more

I bought these sheets for the color, the fabric content and the price. For Forty dollars (supposedly sixty-five percent off sale) it's fine, but I would definitely not pay anything over that price. They feel like cotton, and have a slight sheen and softer hand when you first open it, but once you wash them once, the "sateen" effect is gone, they do wrinkle out of the dryer. If you take them out while warm, and smooth out with hands, it is not too bad. They are soft, and comfortable, but there is ZERO chance these are 1000 thread count. I have 680 TC sheets from Kirkland (Costco) that are much heavier and thicker than these. However, those run about eighty dollars, where this was half that price. My best guess based on comparisons with other sheets I've purchased from reputable retailers, is that these are around 300 thread count at the most. ... show more

When I was in my late 20's (77 now), I discovered 100% cotton sheets with high thread count (800-1000). I have never looked back. I have, counting spouses 6 kids & 6 grandchildren; all sleeping on your sheets. Of course I have also gifted friends. The blankets are Class Grade "A". Being a wonderful, breathable cotton they hug your body to retain your own heat. I recently gifted a wonderful young man who has helped me over the years with your sheets and a blanket. He called a week later to tell me, " I never knew. I'm changed forever!" He also added that his mother was envious. I recommend your products 100%. "Thank you" for your dedication to quality. I love these sheets. They’re the second set I’ve bought from Mayfair. I bought some other sheets in between but find my way back to the same set because they’re my favorite. Good quality Wash well & get softer each wash Sturdy fabric. They don’t feel like they will fall apart after a couple of washes. I have a thick foam mattress and the bottom sheet doesn’t slip off. There’s elastic all around which keeps it in place. I love the tag that tells me top/bottom so i don’t have to rotate the sheet 50 times to figure out if i got it right If you think they’re too expensive put an alert on the ones you want they run sales or coupons often. My only Con is that i don’t see extra pillow cases to buy separately in the two colors i got. They have them in some of the others but not all. So if you have more than 2 pillows you might not get the same colors. ... show more

I have had some issues with the flat sheet unraveling, and I received a used set of sheets instead of a new pair like I purchased, also they are rough on my skin but I have sensitive skin. The sewing job is awful I can see where they went out of line and sewed the boarder all crooked, Alot of strings are falling off and they say in the description that these bed sheets are supposed to fit up to a 18 inch mattress but that is not true and I contacted the seller to see if they would be willing to exchange the queen size ones I bought for a King size but they never addressed this and just said they will have their company look into why they aren't fitting a mattress up to 18 inches like they claim. So Iam disappointed in this company because my bed is a queen size and these queen size bed sheets should be able to fit on my bed if they were truly deep pocket bed sheets up to 18 inches but that's not the case I will include a picture of how their queen size bed sheets fit on my queen size bed and it's just awful. When I toss and turn they come off the mattress, so I was really hoping that because I purchased the sheets on sale that the company would be willing to let me at least give them back these bed sheets that haven't ever been washed, I just put them straight on my bed right out of the package. However they never responded on the issue which I think isn't good customer satisfaction. I would return them but then I wouldn't get to purchase the king size set for the sale price because they took them off sale. Iam very disappointed in Mayfair Linens lack of customer satisfaction, for the price they are charging I need a sheet to actually fit my bed and be of good quality. So I don't think these sheets are worth what they are charging for them because of all these issues. So I don't recommend buying these bed sheets if you have a 18 inch mattress like I do because they won't fit. Also Mayfair Linen please change your title description saying that these bed sheets fit mattress up to 18 inches because this is false. Also if you check the tag some have tags that say 100% Natural Cotton, others say 100% Egyptian Cotton, and even some others say Mayfair Linen 100% Long Staple Cotton. So I don't know what is going on with this company or why the quality is not the same in all of their bed sheets, some are thin and see through and some you get are nice and thick. I would like to know why their product has so many different tags on the same item because I purchased 2 sets of grey striped sheet sets from this company and one had the Mayfair Linen 100% Long Staple Cotton on it while the other set said 100% Egyptian Cotton? Also I purchased a blush set that said 100% Natural Cotton and correct me if I am wrong but isn't Egyptian Cotton and Natural Cotton two different things? But they state in there description page that they are 100% Egyptian Cotton Sateen Weave so I don't know why the different tags and textures of the product. In the pictures above you can see the difference between one of the grey striped sheet sets I purchased verses the other set of the grey striped sheet sets, as you can see one is so thin and see through, while the other one is thick. Also I included a picture of the ivory bed sheets I purchased to show you that a queen size bed sheets doesn't fit a 18 inch mattress like they claim. If your bed is over 12inch I would suggest purchasing a king size and I hope you get a set of the thick bed sheets. It's just luck of the draw I guess on what quality of bed sheets you will exactly get. Myself I am done wasting my time and money with this company because I am not happy with the inconsistencies in their product. I hope this review helps others! ... show more
