  • They Worked Equal to or Better than Expected
Size: 1/4-20 x 15mm
Great product. Worked as they should. As a note, as I was setting these units in aged, very hard, dense hickory I was concerned about stripping the hex head. Especially as I was concerned about the treads pulling out of the wood so I drilled the pilot hole for soft wood. To help reduce friction, I applied some bar soap to the external threads prior to threading them into the wood. The inserts went in easily and I had no issues with stripping the hex heads. ... show more

  • Good price, quality inserts.
Size: 1/4-20 x 20mm
Used these when making a kid’s bed. These inserts work fantastic. Had no problem with them; just make sure you drill the correct size pilot hole.

  • Well made and easy to install
Size: 1/4-20 x 10/15/20mm*150pcs
I used three 1-3/4 x 4" wide red oak cleats on the bottom side of my 2" thick oak work bench top instead of c-channel to help keep the top flat. I slotted the holes in the cleats to allow for wood expansion. I attached the cleats to the underside of the top using these 1 inch (20mm) long steel threaded inserts. I used about 25 inserts for this project. I drilled the 3/8" pilot holes using a shop made drill guide and a veritas 3/8" brad point drill bit. After drilling, I chamfered the holes with a counter sink. I drove the inserts in with a harbor freight T-handle allen driver. The inserts went in fairly tight but did not feel like they were too tight. They all drove in with out damage to the inserts or the driver. The 1/4-20 bolts used to secure the cleats fit nicely without any problems. I was able to remove a few inserts and reuse them in a different location with no problems. Best inserts I've ever used. Highly recommed. ... show more

  • Easy to install; great directions
Size: 5/16-18 x 15mm
I wanted to install these to attach some locking swivel casters on the base for my router table. The directions provided were very helpful. I ended up assembling an installation and removal tool. The coupling nut opposite the threaded insert is installed loosely in the drill press chuck. By "loosely" I mean that the chuck jaws hold the nut in alignment but the nut is loose enough to slip. The insert is installed by tightening the nut next to the insert. If the hole for the insert is the correct size (tight, but not TOO tight). the installation tool can be remove by loosening the nut closest to the insert. If the hole isn't snug enough, the tool can be removed by holding the shaft and using a wrench to remove the lower nut. These inserts worked great. They were just what I needed to get a great looking caster installation. ... show more

  • Threaded inserts
Size: 1/4-20 x 20mm
These inserts are just the right size to hold most wood projects. They hold even in soft pine, now that is a thing I have been looking for. No more gluing inserts in place, with the teeth these have they grip to stay.
