I bought some of these in the 1/4 x 20 size to make a custom spoil board for my Shopbot desktop router. I really wanted some without the barbs on the back, but I figured at $10, I'd take a chance. They worked out exactly as I hoped they would. Since these were on the back of the spoil board to provide hold down locations from the top, I took a pair of pliers and easily broke the barbs off as the MDF I use would have never survived those barbs. I then drilled a 3/8 hole in a piece of mild steel and used it as an anvil to flatten the rim of the Tee Nut out. For those who are interested, I used a .800" x .075 counter bore on the back with a central hole through the spill board of .310" diameter. This required tapping them in with a mallet and I used a flat punch to make sure they were seated into the counterbore so they would not contact the machine bed. It's a little more work than buying the brad hole version, but they are insanely cheap. When this spoil board is used up, I intend to just use a 1/4 x 20 bolt to drive them out from the front and reuse them. A great product at a great price. BTW, none had tight or distorted threads, all were free running! My only complaint is I wish they made these with just a round rim for the same price so you didn't have to remove the barbs. ... show more

05/04/2020 - Let me start out by saying the product (these t nuts) are well made, nice finish, sturdy, they do work and they do everything I need them to do. I order these by the 100 pack for making waste-boards for my CNC machines. However, this is the 2nd time I've ordered from Bolt Dropper and now BOTH times I've been shorted a qty. of pieces. The first time was probably 10 or so short which was frustrating but I just made up the difference by going to the store. This time I ordered it's around 4 short. Still inconvenient, nonetheless. Update: 05/06/2020 - After telling the seller about my issue, they advised it was an Amazon problem and to contact them directly. I told the seller it was a sealed bag and not a Amazon problem, it was a quality control problem with the item and whomever or whatever packaged the item prior to being fulfilled by Amazon. They replied back and told me they would make it right. So, I've since revised my review from 1 star to 4 stars. Still not 5 because of the hassle I had to go through. ... show more
