I have a mini 15w heater with live plants and hooked up a mini 1w air pump with air stone hidden under the gravel. I find the light to be tille too bright for my betta so I tinted the light lense a little and upgraded to carbon midea. Everything is running great. Great tank. I love the little filter and the unique light. The only hard thing was that the instructions were in Chinese. I took a picture and used google to translate to find out how to change the light spectrum. You toggle the light on and off sequentially to change it through the options.

I was super excited to get this kit. It makes a beautiful Amazon type setup if thats what your going for. The last photo is what it looks like now with an extra light for all the other plants. The glass of the aquarium itself is beautiful and clear. The seams are very clean with no ugly silicone showing. The glass is 5 mm thick. It already has a black back to it which was a bonus as I didn't have to modify it. The light is a spotlight type that clamps onto the glass. You can adjust the light from a wide beam to a very small spotlight. It has 3 different colors you cycle thru by repeatedly flipping the switch. There is no timer function or dimming function on the light. The light gets very hot. The filter is junk. The lid has to go over the intake tube, but when you do that, the slightest bump knocks the intake tube off the impeller. You can't run it without the lid as it pushes water over the top. The skimmer part of the filter is an ugly, afterthought add on that somebody decided to throw in the box. That part is white plastic and detracts from the whole setup. I threw the filter in the trash on the first day. You can buy other nano filters that are way better quality. I just use a small powerhead with a sponge filter. I have 13 aquariums and this is my 3rd nano tank. ... show more

A great gift for young ones is anyone who wishes to have a smaller tank and has little space. The little ones love this in the play area when they come over and I feel they are learning how to care for something. I enjoy seeing their faces light up and how they wish to feed and care for the beta fish. Took then on a trip to the pet store after setting this up. No issues setting it up. This is a cute little aquarium. It is 4 gallon seemless. It is easy to set up. It is well made and heavy duty. It come with the light and filter. No top. Which is okay with me. The media could not be loaded. This tank was used as the hospital tank for few new fishes… tank is decent quality.. The filter however is very cheap and function poorly... The tube was able to suck in my guppy and cut it in pieces.. I’m very disappointed because this was one of the guppies I preordered and waited a while to get. I feel terrible for the way it died.. Please don’t make the same mistake as me and use the filter that comes with this set. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Putting this fish tank together was interesting. The directions are all in Chinese and there are no real pictures to show how to put things together, but it was pretty easy to figure out. If you struggle figuring it out, it might be a bit harder to put together. The little filter was annoying, though. One piece did not stick. And when I was putting it together, it seemed looser than all the other pieces, and when I picked it up and jiggled it a bit, it came apart. Happened multiple times, so I “secured” it with a bit of tape, which you might be able to see in the pictures. It finally held together. I filled the tank with water and turned the filter on. It was on, but not doing anything. I realized I needed to put some water in the filter to get it working. Then, I attached the light. It all came together well (excuse the water because I just filled it with water I used earlier). However, it says it is whisper quiet, but as you can hear from my video, it’s not quiet. Maybe with some music or conversation or tv it won’t be heard, but just standing my kitchen, it was loud. I’ve got to go buy fish for it, and little decorations, but it’ll be a nice fish tank for my living room. It’s too loud to put in my bedroom, like I was planning. ... show more
