I’m quilting a project which calls for gluing fabric selvage strips to muslin before stitching them down. I was spending way too much on fabric glue sticks so it was worth a few dollars to try these. They’re much larger than I thought they would be, but the firmness of the glue made application easy. The glue flowed on smoothly exactly where I needed it, held the strips really well (even those with wrinkles from storage flattened out well) and dried quickly. The true test was sewing over the glued strips. The glue didn’t clog my needle or slow the machine. I'd been using UHU glue sticks forever but they seemed to dry out too quickly, always having to go back with wet glue to touch up the corners. So annoying. The Avery glue sticks are wetter than UHU and stick amazingly well, even on corners! YAY! There's a short period where you can reposition your paper. I use these glue sticks constantly, and don't know what I'd do without them. I'm a retired teacher, and in the classroom they were absolutely essential! I've used several kinds, but Avery ones work well and come in larger sizes making them easier to find in the paper clutter.

I have tried different brands of glue sticks and took a chance on this one. In my opinion it works way better than UHU glue sticks. I used UHU based on different youtube crafters using it. Was not satisfied with how many times the paper didn't stick after covering it with UHU glue. So I decided to try Avery brand. Am very satisfied with this product! I have been using Avery Glue sticks for almost 15 years almost daily to glue eBay labels to packages. They are a good substitute than taping my labels on. They stick very nicely. They are not like crazy glue. These glue sticks are for sticking paper objects. Avery glue sticks would work great for scrap books or stamps. A stick can last me quite a while before running out. Great product for the price. The glue stick doesn’t have any weird smell. It’s a nice small compact size. Negatives: Do not leave the cap off overnight or you’ll have a dried out stick. Great price, and I love that it is acid free. BUT I’m having a really hard time getting this glue to actually work. I’m consistently finding that in a few days after application, the paper I’ve glued together starts to become “unglued”. Most often it starts around the edges of the paper. It’s very frustrating and disappointing. Reapplying the glue doesn’t seem to help. I’ve only opened one glue stick in the box, maybe it’s something wrong with that one stick? Maybe I’m just not applying enough glue? Don’t know, but keep this in mind if you are thinning of buying this product. ... show more
